Hi, it's been a while! Glad to be back
This is a drawing of my Blaze Wizard. I always loved that robe(looks more like a dress here;and wanted to draw a Cygnus Knight.
I've been working on this one ever since I finished my previous artwork. It was about 80% finished then I had to quit it for a while due school assignments and such so I really haven't touched this since November. I worked on this the whole day yesterday and finally got it finished(curse my drawing speed! >:O). This drawing was originally for Basil Brigade but I kinda changed my mind at the last moment because I felt a bit discouraged looking at some of other people's submissions. Some of them were really jaw-dropping...TT_TT
Next time I'll be using Illustrator for drawing cell-shaded characters. I've learned it the hard way that Photoshop isn't really the right program for this kind of drawings.
P.S. Unlike Dreamy Ghost drawing no tablet was involved with this one(only pen-tool and gradient tool). Tablet line art isn't really clean enough for me.
P.S.S. Suggestions are welcome but please don't get too crazy! I'm still a newbie and trying to learn.

How elegant! I also saw another drawing by you done on illustrator? My I am jealous! Illustrator is incredibly difficult for me to get used to! Kudos!

This screen and the previous one are the only Anime styled drawings I've done in my whole life. I used to draw only still life and landscapes and such so I wanted to try drawing something different.

I already know that. It's not a much of a big deal. I was really tired when I was writing that and obviously I'm incapable of fixing any texts up there now.

Oh that's what you meant...thanks But I don't think she can be one. She's only level 36...oh wait, Empress Cygnus doesn't really do anything doesn't she? XD

I actually like this drawin on a white background, but anyways everyone has different opinions.
The only complain i have is the huuuuuge feather on the hat D: In reality it should be bending down cuz of the weight, I don't know... but it looks heavy lol.

Thanks for critique I'll look into it but I wish you would explain further about how strange the folds look and how I can improve it. It's a little vague to me. About the background part...I've tried other colours but black definitely looked better than any other colours. [url=http://img41.imageshack.us/img41/6199/98857401.png]Here's an example of white background totally destroying the atmosphere.[/url] Also I'm not really sure why so many people assume black=evil,sinister. I personally find colour black really pretty and elegant but that's just my opinion. Anyways thanks again for the critique.

overall, the wrinkles on the clothes looks wierd especially the part on the floor. and the background imo doesnt fit very well with the girl...shes all smiley happy while walking into darkness ._. but anyway very neat and clean the fire sprite looks awesome!

Yes I will be taking request eventually maybe during summer breaks but not now sorry. I get piles of homework every single week from school(...and I thought highschool was hard >_>so it'll be really difficult to take requests right now.

Yeah you're right. Although I tried, the fire spirit doesn't really blend in with the character that much. I only know very basic tools of Photoshop so I couldn't do blending very well...XP
