Im leaving for college next month but my mom wants me to accept her request right now.

The thing with limited access is that it would seem pointless to have added her in the first place since she can't really see my stuff.
Click the lock key
costumize it to where everyone but your mom can see your status;
Make it the default setting.
Just change your privacy settings. You can customize it so that only your mom cannot see albums you post up and things you're tagged in.
Make a separate Facebook account for family?

just give her limited access.
I suggest not adding your parents on fb.. Tell them there will be things coming along they don't wanna know.
