A quotJumpquot ability for drks
Ok, I've played too much Final Fantasy Tactics but this has to be asked. Has anyone ever thought of how this will work in maple before if it were possible in maple? A part of me says that is impossible or silly but it does give some kind of defense since you're in the air. I'm sure this has been talked about before in basil in some point in time...I'm wondering how other drks see this now.
For those that don't know how the ability works.
Edit: I keep forgetting to not use quotes. -_-

@PirateB0Bx: I had etna, laharl, and flonne with a team of like 3 prinny gods ( also had a fairly leveled Axel). Those were really the only characters I had that stayed fairly leveled up past the story mode bar some guys purely decked out for movement (that damn pirate sidequest man....). I lost count of how many times I reincarnated them, but they were near unstoppable.
Was never too fond of mystic knights honestly... though they're really good. I much preferred flonne as my mage. Though she required the help of students to get her magic, she basically became a nearly invincible god by the time I was done.
A mystic knight would be the best choice, but I have my preferences.

Spear users in disgaea are obviously superior to everything else (Except a fully geared out Flonne with all potential magic)
I dunno. I had a Magic Knight in Cursed Memories that I had reincarnated 10 times through all 8 mage types and then a healer (for EVERY single magic spell in the game), and then finally as the final tier Magic Knight. I had little use for hardly any other unit after that point, including main characters.
u talking bout how kaim jumps into the air and while hes in the air he cant be hit but comes downward towards the enemy spear tip first?
Yes.
And I think that if the CD is a bit longer than roar and the damage is slightly less than roar, I think that the move can be useful.

Pretty much.
Reminds me of Impaler Drop from Diagaea games, which never failed to impress despite it being the first rank spear skill.
Also, I did initially picture the mechanic skill.
I could see jump draining the enemies hp
Hitting 1 target for massive damage, or mobbing with a shockwave upon impact
Giving you some i-frames while in the air.
Having a noticeable recovery time after the attack
A move like jump I feel would need to be quite useful, though the recovery time after landing would make you think twice before using it.
Having it be super spam-able would just make it look silly and would take away why jump is so awesome to begin with, so it shouldn't be too fast. (Think Barrage in terms of the time it takes, and how open you are after using it)
I would have pictured something more like Mech's super jump, doesn't that do damage upon landing?
@iChosenDream 'jump' is usually used by spear users in ff games such as kain, cid (as a limit break), freya and kimahri
I reckon it could work. It can be like penombre but instead of moving away from the monster, you dive on top of it
Woah never knew how many Final Fantasy games included that skill.
For better animations, when you are in the air and going down onto the enemy, you point your spear down and then and maybe become like a meteor.
In final fantasy, if a spear is an equippable weapon for a character, it's safe to assume jump will be in the game.
Final Fantasy XII is one of the more obvious exception to this rule though.
it could work like that Demon slayer teleport skill, just a different animation ofc.
That could work but there has to be a bit of a longer I-frame to have that "dodgy" feel to it.....I sorta like @iVege 's idea now that I think about it.

Meh, it's possible. I'd think it would need a longer animation so it wouldnt look really dumb.

To go with the theme, it could also steal an enemies hp to give back to you., and OBVIOUSLY let you reach platforms high above you.
Sadly, unless they realllly changed it a lot, it would be near useless in terms of damage. (Unless they made it hit for MASSIVE damage and bypass cap)
Hell, even in FF it wasn't used for damage, it was used mostly because it let your dragoon dodge a bosses overpowered party killing move. (Hint: Remember the Garuda from FF3?)
As much as I would love a jump skill, I don't think it could work well in a game like maple.
My first thought: "It'sa me, Mario!"

I want Kain's armor
- Use skill.
- Character becomes transparent (+skill animation).
- One monster in hitbox is targeted.
- After some time passes (during this time: iframes).
- Monster is hit with a hit animation resembling you doing Earthquake (new mechanic OR just a silhouette).
- Character appears (+skill animation).
