Problems with Hot Time
Nexon has always had trouble with this version of hot time. They switched to the new version where you can log in anytime during the day to reduce stress on servers, because this hot time does stress them out. Everyone who is anyone on maplestory who knows about hot time and has the ability to log in is logged in at this time, and thus, chaos ensues. This time it is more severe because of the fact that their servers are rather sickly to begin with, as I am certain they didn't fix all their problems in that last patch; it took them over 24 hours after all. People who are having troubles with the hot time items should be mad; this was compensation for our loss when it came to a 24 hour downtime. Nexon should have thought this through a bit better; this was not going to turn out well, and many of us knew it. Their compensation just turned out to be more bugs and errors for many people.

yah thats true, but theres still ways around it like opening multiple maples (switch user method, not sure if it still works)

The old version was hot time, not hot day. They use to do things like this a lot back around the time of the "Big Bang" update with the release of Aran, but this put a lot of pressure on the servers, which is why they switched to hot days as there wouldn't be much more stress than there is on normal days, however it does run the risk of abuse. It is a trade off, and back then, the servers were at least stable. With the new update a few days ago, the servers have been very weak. All I am saying is they should have at least made it stable before doing a hot time again.

Yes, poor choice of words on my part. People like to be very sarcastic on this site. What I mean is they should have the servers stable for something like this, but they have not been since the last update.

I think it's only for this time it's hot time due to most of the items being cs stuff.

Actually, this Hot Time was not part of their compensation. It was a regular part of the First Impact schedule. Their compensation for the 24 hour downtime was giving us all the attendance check for 12/4, giving everyone a style box, and providing longer than usual 2x events this weekend. But yes, their servers are horrible. They've always been. They're bad even with low traffic in the game, so did you really have to go all Captain Obvious and point out how bad they are during high traffic sessions? I hate to give Nexon the excuse of "It's Nexon, expect this." but that's the reality which we cannot avoid.

They'll never be able to fix all the server bugs. I guess we'll just have to live with it.

Yes, however if they wanted to do a hot time like this, they should have thought about it carefully, perhaps even waited and done it after fixing all their server bugs.

You learned you lesson before but you still had to have a hot time didn't you?
@Above: That's one of the concerns nexon had with this I guess and opted for hot time

I understand why they did this for this one specific Hot Time. Can you imagine the # of free cubes and Gach tickets they'd give out to merchs with their infinite # of mules had this been a Hot Day? When it returns to regular in-game items and not CS items, it'll be back to a Hot Day again.
