Virus Popup on Mobile

I was scrolling through Basilmarket today on my phone like any other day, however I kept getting redirected to a pop up telling me I had to download a anti virus app. It's starting to get really frustrating since it keeps redirecting me every time I click on a thread. It is this happening to anyone else and are there ways to prevent it?

Thanks in advanced.

For android, use Adaway or MOAB (Mother of all adblocking). Just search it on XDA

These things usually come in through infected flash ads. It can happen on any site that uses flash for the videos in the ads on the site.
It's not the site that's doing it though, the ads come in from ad servers like Google Adsense.

The normal way of dealing with this kind of thing is to use an ad-blocker app to prevent the flash ads from being played, which stops the infected malware from popping up on the screen.
These are usually aimed at Windows computers, so they may not be able to infect a phone, but it's still risky to leave them unblocked.
Check the app store for your device to see what ad-blockers are available for your particular type of phone[/quote]

Thank you for the info and tip!
