What multiplayergames to get?
So I got a free 3DS XL (wont say how) and now I'm looking into getting some games for it. Money isn't really an issue so I could get 5 or 4 games you could knock off supersmash bros and Mario kart because I'm already getting those two but what about other games?
Quick side question
I'm planning to buy pokemon heartgold do people still play that game online?

Kid Icarus The Uprising is a really fun game. The stylus controls take some getting use to or you can just buy the piece that adds a second analog.

They discontinued the older games' wifi services. Newer games will be probably be playable for a few more years?

Wait if they disconnected the WiFi service can you play still other newer games online like smash bros Pokemon omega ruby etc? Will they also remain online for a while?
You can either get Pokemon X/Y or wait for ORAS (I guess getting both is also an option.)

Don't buy Heartgold unless you are using it with Pokemon Black or White 2 to transfer to X/Y or Omega/Alpha. All DS games discontinued their wifi service in May of this year.
Other than the stuff already mentioned I remember Kid Icarus was fun online, but I don't know if the service for that discontinued or not.
For multiplayer games I would also suggest Animal Crossing New Leaf. Honestly, SSB4 is what's going to be the dominating thing to play online on the 3DS.
Pretty sure Pokemon Heartgold/Soulsilver and any of the other older DS games cannot connect to Nintendo WiFi anymore since Nintendo has disconnected it. There may be unofficial servers hosted by a non-official party that you could try. Although, most people only focus on the Wii's wifi demise (SSBB/Mario Kart Wii) so a DS-dedicated server may not exist.
