Its not great, good thing i got it cheap on flash sale. Nexon did better with the sao event than hollow fragment itself.
Just wait for Lost Song it's a million times better. And it has flying lol, been playing a import copy from asia with eng subs and I'm actually enjoying it a lot more than I thought I would. Yeah SAOs story is a massive trope in itself but at least the games are somewhat decent, getting better anyways. I agree that .hack is still light years ahead of it though, also should check out Log Horizon and No Game No Life if you haven't already, two really great MMO animes that actually have an intellectual cast of characters.
umm no, the whole anime sucks, when i first watched SAO i liked the first half but then i saw it again and its terribly written, the story is rushed, characters are 2 dimensional and most only show up once in pointless side plots, They try to make us care about the MC by showing us that he has PTSD or w/e from his guild dying when they show up and die in the same episode w/ no character development. As for businesses trying to franchise this property, i think its pointless, there just isnt enough material to make a good game w/ it unless you make it non-canon.
All issues, but you overstate the impact they have on the anime. Which while at times unfortunate are hardly the detriment to it, that they aren't to many if not most anime, conventional or otherwise. It's hardly an issue that SAO only embodies, kind of the point of everything I had previously stated.
@icephoenix21: I fully understand the issues that arise from SAO, particularly that of the 2nd and 3rd parts present within the anime.
sounds boring
@icephoenix21: I fully understand the issues that arise from SAO, particularly that of the 2nd and 3rd parts present within the anime. It still speaks to, what I'm sure you've understood from that of the .hack series, of MMORPGs and a desire of realistic hybrid qualities to eventually be present within the genre. While I played, albeit briefly, the SAO game when it was originally released on Vita, as something akin to a JRPG with a variant storyline I would hardly call it bad. If anything, it's uninspired and frankly rather safe. I do find it curious when people deride it for being a harem, which it unabashedly is (and something I'm not a fan of.) but not other ones, but that's clearly not a discussion for here.
That all being said, I would have much preferred if they took the core gameplay elements and created something akin to Tera/Vindictus/et. al. that pushed boundaries of reactive MMORPG, set within the world. Where while the storyline is lacking, which if we're being honest, the .hack series is not immune to, we would have seem some of the hinted at grandiosity that represents the world building present within SAO/ALO/GGO as individual elements without a focus primarily on Kirito. A passing interest would be much preferred, I think.
Ah so, you've played it and aren't a fan?
I've read enough about it and reviews of it to know it's bad.
SAO in and of itself is bad. A game would be worse. You're better off playing a harem game in this case, since that's essentially what SAO is.
Why not play an actual good pseudo-mmorpg game like the .hack//G.U. series?
Ah so, you've played it and aren't a fan?

no
go play bloodborne and kill the casul within
I'm just gonna wait for lost song lol
I was browsing another forum and apparently this game sucks
ah yes another archetype to add to kirito's harem arsenal.
Uum, come again? I didn't even realize there was a sao game on psn. Eh, must be a $20 title. I guess I'll check it out. You left ur psn on basil? Umm, ok.
