Beast Tamer Questions
I recently took a small break from Maple, and coming back, I'm looking to make a new main. I came back to the game thinking I was going to create a Luminous. I'm sick of the Explorer Mages (since one of the 3 seems to always be my main at the time), but I wanted to recycle my %INT Gear and such since I don't have much funds outside of my Mage's stuff, and I'm not looking to sell/trade everything for a new class. However, when I saw that Beast Tamer came out, and that it was also a Mage, I decided to give it a try. So far, I like it a lot. However, I want a job that's going to be good for bossing (and I guess decent in terms of DPS) because that's primarily what I'm looking to do right now - and a friend of mine told me I wouldn't enjoy Beast Tamer in the long run if that's what I was looking for. Is this true?
I'm also hearing that Lumis have pretty low DPS. Does that necessarily mean they're bad at bossing/boss solos (I know all jobs have potential with funds - but I'm not looking to heavily fund a character, or at least not anytime soon). If this is the case for both jobs, I might be stepping into a new class.

You're looking for Battle Mage.
BT is fun and good for training, maybe not the best bosser.
Lumi has somewhat low damage, but great utility for bossing and amazing for training.
Evan has very high damage but does not have a skill to lock bosses.
Bishops are good for everything because of their amazing utility.
i/l and f/p were both changed to be more fun. they can deal lots of damage but have very little utility.
kanna are for grinding only
battle mages have decent utility and damage. very good bossers.
I'm enjoying it so far, but I don't want to invest all my time on a Beast Tamer just to hate it at 18X (like every other one of my mains) and switch to Lumi or something else. Should I just stick to my original plan and main a Lumi? I'm not finding any good Beast Tamer videos, and the little info about their numbers is unappealing.
There's a reason 4 of the top 5 are Lumi.
But if you enjoy BeastTamer, try it out some more.
