what game should I get into
I got completely tired of League of Legends and MOBAs as a whole, and I feel like if I go back to maplestory I'll feel too far behind because the game is centered around elitists and OP gear right now more than ever. I want to get into a game with the simplicity of maplestory while also having more of a friendly community-based environment where you can actually meet people (basically, a game with a really good population size). If anyone knows a game that comes to mind, feel free to recommend one.

I found out about Maplestory on that games forums. lol I played that back in like 04' tho. Completely different from what I know.

wait maybe 6 months for maplestory 2 i guess

Some people like this game and some dont, but I like Osu. It's basically a beat game for your computer. So i mean its not a RPG game at all so idk if you'll like it, but its fun when you're bored and have nothing to do in my opinion.

Pretty much all games are filled with elitists and OP gear. And the games that aren't and are fairly balanced are competitive and not so friendly. Pick your poison.
Club penguin? I think it's all little kids so they talk a lot and are social
