Pdr on Cvel

I recently increased my pdr to 92% and wondered how this would work into Cvellum's 300% ignore on damage?

@Undexme: I'm saying there aren't any other bosses with any gimmicks like this super high defense to them aside from CVell. Maybe elemental bosses or bosses who's stats change sporadically. It's just kinda boring when all bosses are just high Hp punching bags.

And having complicated formulas is unnecessary and much more difficult for players to understand. It also makes it harder to keep balances as when you have more variables to factor in, it's harder to keep balance among all the stats. The formulas really are over complicated.

[quote=Darknite388]Don't you need a threshold amount of PDR to hit more than 1damages on Cvel?[/quote]

[Your Ingore Def] = X
[Monster PDR] = Y
[Monster PDR Ignored] = Y * X
[Monster PDR Unignored] = Y - [Monster PDR Ignored] = Y - Y*X = Y * (1 - X)

[Damage after PDR] = [Monster PDR Unignored] * [Base Damage]

If you want [Damage after PDR] > 0, and [Base Damage] is assumed to be > 0, then what you really want is:

[Monster PDR Unignored] < 100%

Y * (1 - X) < 100%
Y - Y*X < 100%
Y - X*Y < 1
Y - X*Y - 1< 0
Y - 1 < X*Y

Because Y >= 0 :

(Y - 1)/Y < X
X > (Y - 1) / Y

If Y = 300% = 3, then:
X > 2 / 3 = 0.66666666... = 66.67%

You need at least 67% PDR or you'll hit 1s on cvell. Although at 67%, you'll just be hitting BARELY above 1. In reality, you really kind of need ~90% PDR to do any serious damage to cvell, considering he has ~120,000,000,000 HP.

@AshleyAttacked: Anyone who has a decent grasp of math and patience can figure it out if they really wanted to. No one says you have to understand all the formulas to play the game, it's simply a point of interest for those who are curious. For everyone else, you can just go test your damage instead of calculating it on paper.

[quote=Undexme]It's the exact same math to get to the answer for any other boss, just with different numbers.[/quote]

He's still right, tho. The equation for damage in this game is really lacking and overly arbitrary. It's no wonder Nexon can't figure out how to balance classes in their own friggin game. lol.

[quote=Kazzooey]This game's formulas are overly complicated imo and don't make that much sense. The only boss in the game that really does make due with this defense formula is CVell, which is kind of sad because I like how this boss have something you need to take them on outside of damage and skill. But whatever that's just me.[/quote]

[quote=Undexme]Ignore 92% = 8% left.
8% of 300% = 24%.
100% - 24% = you do 76% of your regular damage.[/quote]

That was simple, thanks

Ignore 92% = 8% left.
8% of 300% = 24%.
100% - 24% = you do 76% of your regular damage.
