@FreeTunes: Silly, I mean I go to community college and see that the fashion illustration students hang up pictures that aren't as nice looking as yours. Sorry if yer offended, ehe.
@pinksinsftw what are you trying to say?
That community college is not the greatest place to look for fashion illustrations. x.x

@twinklefish that is not a fail... That is looking freaking SLICK!
@lizara Thanks mate Let me tell you - its a freaking expensive way to use your collour pencils. I press dem collour pencils harder than i press the buttons on a remote controller which batteries is dead... If that made any sense
The point is: When i collour my drawings i often end up with cramps in my hands because i press em so hard ... Its worth it though:3

@pinksinsftw although this thread started out with a drawing of a graffiti scetch it is not intended to be all about graffiti. If i misunderstood your point please do forgive me

Fashion illustration? Cause that's like waaay better than what some students from that class put up on my school's walls. LOL
*____* I really love the color gradient on the words! aslgdkh what medium is that? color pencil? O:
I first made a sketch with a regular pencil. I then used a marker thingy of sorts to draw on top of all the pencil lines and then erased the pencil lines themselves. I then used regular collour pencils to collour the drawing. Im glad you like it
@Kalimir: Haha I NEVER try to say " I'm better than" because I mean who am I kidding, I cant use the art of others to base my artistic level on, its rude~ I'm definitely going to try my best to improve my work with the inspiration that I have for other artists. I'm not one of those super gifted fast learning artist, so I'm going to have to find the time of day to devote myself to practicing =D. One thing I AM confident about is that if I pursue art, it can only get better and not worse, so my dreams are to improve to the point where I can finally say " I'm proud".

@Aerogaa: Haha, yeah I do need to get over this and get a little more courage in my veins. I definitely don't mind criticism at all! I dont know what I'm afraid of! I dont even like people looking at me draw. I suck lol.

@twinklefish: Lol NO no, I've drawn online once and I post my work in other places~ Posting art on basil is...lol ....I definitely don't use it to improve because I get a lot of mail like " Oh if you don't sell out on your work and don't draw chibi's no one will pay attention, people wont appreciate it". I know basil isn't the place but I've been inspired by Maplestory for a long time. Sometimes when I do fan art I don't know where to put it. I used to post them on the Maplestory Forums which landed me 3 trips to MapleTimes and earned me Creative Expressionist of 2011.
Someone told me to go on basil on post art but then I saw a forum about who the best artists on basil were. I actually didn't agree with the forum, I also didn't like how harsh it was to the artists who weren't "good" enough so I never posted here, shared thoughts or anything. A year later (After the second maple times) another set of people suggested that I go on Basil, I declined. It was when I drew on the " Draw the person above on MS paint" @Kafleen: was all " DO ET" And here I am..lol, What an awkward story..

I actually did start drawing on Gaia when I was younger! I had a shop, it did well ( Even though the art was UGLY!). I was a little child with a big head and passion to draw other people for fake currency. I still have the account despite never logging on! Maybe I should get back on. I still talk to some of my artist friends (Though some of them have turn obscure and VERY limited art wise)
I need an online tutor (Hint hint nudge nudge, TEACH ME) =)
I feel like Gaia is worse now, I can't keep up with all these artists [and gosh there are so many people copying each other's styles it's a bit ..creepy]

IDK ABOUT TUTOR BUT WE SHOULD TOTALLY COLLAB AT SOME POINT. I want to have a go at your lineart ohoho. But yeah if you ever want to talk about anything hit me up :`D andmakeatumblr.

In general I think it's the norm to be conscious about letting people see your art. I think I'm just shameless in that regard. HEHE.

@Kalimir Haha, thanks. It took a lot of time and practice to get to where I am and I don't plan to stop. I honestly say that I still don't take well to some forms of criticisms, but over time I think I'll get over that too.

@klydekiss Don't worry about it at all! In fact, hearing you talk about it reminds me of how I was during my first few years of high school. I didn't know what I was afraid of either, but I just felt afraid to let people see what I was drawing (or, well, doodling in class). Again it just takes a bit of confidence, and even though I still don't like having people stare at my doodles during class I won't hunch over and try to hide it (especially now in university, in high school I'd only hide it as the teacher walked around). If you can find an outlet where you can draw freely, ie an art class, it helps take that stress off, and since you have to draw freely in an art class it helps you get over that fear of letting people see.

@GenuineLaughter You're amazing. I aspire to be you.

@Aerogaa You, my good sir, are pretty freaking ace at drawing. I looked at the first few of your deviations, but i think imma take a look at some more of them
Dont bash yourself too hard. It is indeed correct that criticsism can be hard, but like you said, it is one of the best ways to improve - but you wont get any criticsism if you dont have the courage to post your drawings in the first place

ANYWAY! Brb, taking a closer look at your gallery.
@Kalimir: It's still pretty Embarrassing! I have to think 5 times before posting anything here. I'm not one of those overly confident, " Everyone come look at dis art I made!" type of individual. I don't know whats wrong with me, I have to grow out of it eventually. When I've improved to the level where I feel comfortable and like I've successfully hit a high level of artistic skill then I'll crawl out of my lonely cave lmao. But thank you for the kind and motivating words! ;o;!
Is this the only community you post your art in? Tbh this is a pretty bad community as far as art-improvement goes. If you draw anime people think it's too mainstream, if you don't draw anime it's weird...etc.

I started out in forums like..gaia..lol. That place is full of idiots but the art community is honestly really nice. I got to collab and meet with a lot of really cool artists and art 'collectors.'

Oh, looks like we're posting dAs and stuff. Here's mine.

I'm also currently working on lining a sketch of the girls from Grand Chase in maid outfits (because lol). I saved it on an external hard drive and don't have it with me right now, but I'll post the sketch here for you guys for critiques later if you want.

@klydekiss I know how you feel, and I can say it just takes a bit of time and effort. If you notice my deviantART only has works I've done since the beginning of this school year, when I started college. Everything pre-university was normally never posted, and I only post what I think is the best of what I can do around on basil and things.
Again, it just takes some time to get over yourself and get that courage to post. It took me about 3 years because I'm pretty insecure about myself, but I guess I'm a bad example.

Eventually you realize though that unless you post and receive criticisms, you can't improve as fast or as well as you hope to. Criticisms hurt sometimes, but you eventually you become better at taking them.

@trisscarro For some reason i really like the syringe. I think its because of the shape or something. It looks sort of like a weapon or something

I most likely won't be front paged for a while unless it's in the middle of my practice. I'm currently practicing proportion and I don't plan on ever drawing a Maple-specific drawing again, simply because I've outgrown basilmarket. But you know, I might include something sexy every now and then for the basil fan boys.
