What insects do you hate and why?
I personally hate house millipedes I've had one very scary encounter with one where it was literally beside me on the wall when I was half asleep.
Why must creatures like this exist?

Wasps and fleas.
..Especially fleas because they can give you tapeworms if you swallow a flea infected with tapeworm larvae.
..Q___Q.
There are only two major insects I really fear;
Bees / Bee Family (wasps, hornets, anything that can fly that has a stinger) - They do look pretty cool with those black and yellow patterns but these things scare the heck out of me. I've never been stung by one and I hope not to. Whenever I hear the buzzing, I always spaz out with my hands swatting all around me. I've never really had a traumatic experience with bee's before, I'm just totally afraid of them.
Spiders - Same with bee's. I've never been bitten but I just have a strange fear of them. But, there was this one time when I thought I was completely done with my fear. I was younger, and my school had this presentation thing with this animal keeper. (All of this was our choice, like, some people were like; "Oh, I don't want to do it" and others were like "Oh, sure!". I did all of them.) First he brought out a cute bunny rabbit that we all got to pet and cuddle with, then he moved on to a snake that we put around our necks, then a chinchilla on our head, then... He brought out a hairy tarantula bigger than my hand right now. We had the chance to have it crawl up our arms and out of a presentation with like 20 - 30 people, I'd say about 10 people did it. As he went around the room I was contemplating whether I should let it crawl on me or not, and when it got to me I let it crawl up my arm. I wasn't really freaked out or anything. The man said it had no fangs, so there was no chance of it lunging out into my face.
There are some other bugs I kind of fear a bit, like I run away when I see them, but I don't scream and have a seizure when I see them, like cockroaches.
There is one insect that I'm not scared of, but I really hate it. Flies. It's summer, so my family keeps the window open in our apartment.
A ton of flies come in, and whenever I'm trying to sleep they just crawl over my leg, waking me up. >.<
One bug that I absolutely love is the dragonfly. I would have a pet dragonfly if I could. <3
i like bees and spiders, and i see them on a regular basis. bees will not bother you unless you provoke them, while spiders just sits in a corner without bothering you.
house flies, on the other hand, annoy me to no end. that buzzing sound... >.<
poisonous insects
Fun fact: this is the 100th post of this thread
@Kalemora: would be helpful if you would have made THAT clear from the start
Anything with more then 4 legs...

I'm fine with most insects, except cockroaches. I freeze when I see them. I used to be totally okay with them, though. I even stepped on one with bare feet when I was younger, which freaked me out a little, but I was still okay with them. Dunno what happened to me.
I go about extremely roundabout ways to kill one if I see one. Sometimes, they even escape. Once they're killed (if I even killed them and they don't magically spring back to life and scare the crap out of me, usually because of my ineffective ways to go about killing them while staying as far as possible), I have to get like 20 layers of tissue to pick them up.
@Kalemora: if he were to have an issue with that it's his own fault nobody asked him to start that silly crap
Spiders even though they are arachnids.
All flying insects and cockroaches
Spiders, BIG GIGANTIC SPIDERS. ok i'm over-exaggerating. but when ants get into my food cabinets i hate that. and i hate them for doing that.
mosquitos
big fat spiders
I really dislike potato bugs because my parents taught me some folklore behind potato bugs.. Cara de nino... and though I know its superstition I can't shake the stories.
Ants and spiders. >.< >.< >.< >.< >.< >.< >.< >.< >.<
Really? Ants? (well, unless they go in your ear or something, you have nothing to really worry about)
OT: I'm just going to go and assume that the person who created the thread meant "things that are close enough to insects and insects" instead of just "insects" cus a lot of the people here listed animals that are not insects. the "insects" that I'm not too fond of are House Centipedes (the ones with long legs and a short body) and Spiders that are bigger than my hand (Spiders and Centipedes are not insects).
Fun fact: On average a human eats 8 spiders per year. (Note how it's an average and the location matters, so don't worry too much and try to keep your mouth closed while sleeping )
Ants and spiders. >.< >.< >.< >.< >.< >.< >.< >.< >.<
I just hate moths and worms. I'm cool with house spiders tho. Heck, I don't even catch them. I let them crawl on me during sleep. It if were worms (not those little thin bait worms, but anything that resembles caterpillars, silkworms, maggots, etc.) I'd flip the bed and burn everything.
Everyone hates mosquitoes. Cuz they all do one hing.
fun fact: bug sprays works on maggots like magic
Practically every insects creeps me out but I think mosquitoes, spiders, wasps, and cockroaches are at the top of the list.
Mosquitoes have given me so many scars from the bites that it's not even funny anymore.
Rollie Pollies are the only ones that don't freak me out.
Nothing on Insec, but the wannabe NA Insecs... sooo annoying.
cicadas

I hate ants. I just want to kill all of them. There is a "incident" with ants.
Cockroaches, ew.
But, usually i ignore all bugs unless they are right next to me, or someone tells me to kill them. I use a paper towel or tissue, and kill them, but their guts are still on the wall or the ground It feels squishy.
@Nashi
What kind of mental disorder do I have
All of them, because they're scary.
@CatThinkof1: oh... hallucination on top of it all... well get well soon and good night ^^!
@CatThinkof1: my, if you hear insects speak you DEFINITELY need to get checked D:
I once felt something itchy on my back, and when I looked in the mirror it was a bug, so I flinged it onto my sink counter 0-o
it kept running frantically and ran right off the counter and died .-. :<
but yeah guys you should touch spiders because you might get bitten and become spiderman
@CatThinkof1: my, you have some other sort of mental condition that I don't know. should get checked either way ^^"
Spiders for sure....ANY spider at all.......Luckily for me my country has next to no really harmful spiders besides FreakOfNature spiders that get smuggled in fruit boats from South America...(like some weird spider that had a scorpion tail)
someone's got a phobia xD
i hate butterfly, so wei*d </3
mosquitoes.. nuff said
Anything that enters my room and I fail to kill it. Then I can't sleep because I know it's out there somewhere...
Oh, and anything that can jump long distances like crickets.
Bees are awesome. You dont Po them, they wont sting you simple as that. AND, the pollenate EVERYTHING which gives you your grown food
I can't stand bugs at all. I was scared of them when I was little, but then there was an "incident." After that, I've been terrified of bugs.
Right now, I'm sitting criss-cross on my bed because I saw a spider in the corner of my room.
@Seodan: Then no problem with that live in peace with them and enjoy the benefits... finding dry and dead pests near a spider's nest is really soothing (at least to me xD)
Spiders for sure....ANY spider at all.......Luckily for me my country has next to no really harmful spiders besides FreakOfNature spiders that get smuggled in fruit boats from South America...(like some weird spider that had a scorpion tail)
@CherryLigers: Hornets really used to scare me a lot cause my grandparents would tell me they can kill you with one sting... they also disgust me cause my grandpa used to catch them and cut them in pieces with his secateurs and parts of it would still move....... *SHUDDER*!
and don't stomp those poor little things wouldn't you rather have a spider that won't ever bite you than a bunch of flies up in your face or moths ruining your food orrr mosquitos sucking your blood? ;/
@CatThinkof1: Social fear ain't good, you should get that treated.
@Nashi: Yeah I'm glad my location doesn't have big spiders
Heck, the biggest spider I've seen in my home was probably no bigger than my thumb
@Seodan: eh the big spiders only live outside as far as I've seen (or rather, in like dark/moist places like cellars/basements/garden sheds) or in shadowy areas...
at least in Germany we don't have overly big ones and most house spiders are really tiny xD the most common kind is also REALLY fragile looking... so nothing to be scared of
@Nashi: Well actually it depends on the size, but I don't live in Australia so I think I'll be fine
@Seodan: so you don't mind single spiders? O.o keep them inside either way cause it may be they won't even survive outside (so putting them outside is indirectly killing them T^T)~~~
@Nashi: haha now that I think about it, I would only freak out about spiders (or insects in general) if they were en masse
Every single one of them. I hate insects so much, I'm convinced that I'm a few steps from having a phobia of them.
@Seodan: Fwah, I probably got approx 3 kinds of diff spiders in my room alone (case given they stayed here.. maybe they travelled elsewhere or died ; A ;....)... I actually find it cute/interesting when one comes to "visit" me (walks on wall behind my screen, walks over screen/keyboard or comes down from above). It's kinda soothing to have that kind of "lively" feeling at home xD
and I guess you did get that from your past I never really had bad experiences with any bugs or spiders (though I was bitten by a spider before... I was holding her in my closed hand so I did understand it and wasn't mad or scared)
I keep spiders in the house/room... especially in winter. I never let any of them outside. If they go by themselves, fine with me. Otherwise if they feel comfortable where they are I let them be, it must mean they have something to eat nearby - which then again means they're doing a great job at getting rid of pests for me. I've even seen one with a (food) moth larvae before, quite surprised it managed to catch one and carry it around
@klu180: Ladybugs are really cute and helpful (I had a plant louse pest on my indoor sunflower seedlings and it was around the cocoon-time for ladybugs so I gathered some in my grandparents' garden and later they hatched in my plant pot and soon the lice were gone... xD HAH! sadly some ladybugs were eaten by spiders... but that's life and I guess it was a new kind of meal for "my" spiders lol)
what's wrong with caterpillars? Those are kinda funny but I'm scared to squish them.
never seen a praying mantis myself sadly I don't think there are any in Germany D: at least not in my area... BUT we DO have stag beetles ^__^ which are incredibly rare.. but I was REALLY lucky to find a living male one a bunch of weeks ago so exciting (especially cause it takes approx 5 years for them to hatch and they only live for one month...). It felt funny holding it on my finger hehe. I was in my grandparents' garden a lot ever since I was a baby (and crawled around in the mud) so I don't mind most insects and find most actually rather interesting or even cute rofl.
@Hatchet: why do they scare you? Now, I wouldn't wanna actually touch a grown one myself (having a baby one would be SO LOVELY though!). And what's wrong with butterflies close up? they look so gentle and fragile... i had one fly on my nose before<3.
All insects

This.
Roaches....do i need to explain? </3
I encountered a Japanese roach once when I was at my grandparents' house...
NEVER AGAIN
AND THEY FLY
You're so silly spiders arent insects
Oops. Always slips my mind
I still hate spiders though
You're so silly spiders arent insects
but op said millipedes so no one cares anymore.
Bees, spiders, and those really big centipede things
ticks are annoying af, same w/ mosquitos.
beetles like ladybugs or basically anything with a shell and can squish weird
i think the only bugs im not scared of and sort of like are spiders but they're not rlly insects
daddy long legs and bees of any kind
