MapleStory in Viet Nam?
Hello Basilers,
I will be going on a vacation to Viet Nam during the summer, and I was wondering if it is possible to play GMS there? VinaGames and Nexon broke their contract, so there is no Viet Nam MapleStory. I've heard that Nexon allowed Vietnamese players to play GMS because of that, but is it confirmed? Is there a way to play there? Sorry if this is in the wrong section, mods, I didn't know where to put it.
Thanks in advance
EDIT: People that say I should be outside and have fun, etc., I can't go outside because my mother is making me tag along while they do immigration documents for my stepdad, so I'm stuck.

even if there is downtime, why wouldnt u spend it with your family? even if you go on vacation a lot its not really a excuse to play MS and not talk to relatives u rarely see all year round, there IS downtime but it can be spent more efficiently tahn playing maple.
I think it would be able to work. I've also researched using Maple in other countries and mostly I've been getting was that your account had to be made before a certain date otherwise the IP block would eat you up! But I currently live in the Philippines and it works fine lag-free (not Vietname but I hope it helps).
People, just because you're going on a vacation it's not like you're out 24/7. Some days you might be inside your room for all days. For example, Vietnam is extremely hot so I like to go out at night - things are much more calmer and peaceful, so yeah. Please don't think of us as 'no-lifers' because we play games when we go on holidays. It's like bringing your iPod in the car or with you whenever you go.
No don't bother playing maplestory. It's your vacation wouldn't you rather go outside and venture into Vietnam? You can also play Maple when you come back from your vacation. This is just a opinion.
This.
Couldn't you play MSEA from Vietnam? Its closer after all.
Yes, I've been to Viet Nam and I have played GMS =D
It doesn't lag at all.
Source: I went there recently
And if you can't live without maple they have their own server.
You're going on holiday and thinking about maplestory.......what has this world come to!.

I've been on enough vacations to know that there is always going to be downtime, always going to be time when you aren't doing something or you're too tired to be "out it in the world" that you just want to sit down and enjoy what you like to do.
To answer your question, yes. The only restriction is the fact that people in Vietnam are unable to make gMS accounts, but if you have one then you won't be blocked. In the event you are, there are several proxies that you could be using.

When i went in 6th grade (about 4 years back) it said it'll take about a day to finish the download of the setup, has that been fixed/been made efficient since then
I WAS WONDERING THE SAME THING!
Don't know if I have to go yet, I have to see what my parents decide.
