One summer my brother and I had an Asian horror film marathon, and I remember I really liked "Hansel and Gretel" (South Korea, 2007). I'll have to watch it again to see if it's actually good though, since I was about 14 when I last saw it and I've watched a lot more horror since then
Wish I could have film marathons with people.

It Follows is undoubtedly the best recent horror flick. Babadook was p good too

@kiddiket unfriended was really only "scary" because everything is from the point of a computer screen. No angles and very little range of view makes you feel like something's going to pop out at you. In the end the suspension of disbelief didn't quite hold... It just felt like everything was going to hell lol.

However, I did find it "scary" though not psychologically horrifying or anything like that because
1. My ex and I were the only ones in the entire theater
2. It was very, very loud.

@aeswag: not scary, but sxual abuse, and just horrible things with the women and yeah which is very hard for me to watch

@kiddiket: difficult? Like scary? I've kinda grown a tolerance to horror movies so none of them really scare me anymore.

@kiddiket: well The Babadook didn't really make me that creeped out either, but there are a few movies that can make me scared without using jump scares. It was too depressing for me lol.

And yeah I'd recommend The Purge 2 too.

@aeswag: omg yes still waiting for unfriended haha!
bedevilled is really good...but is really difficult to watch. watch at your own risk!

@hangwithung pans labyrinth is amazing! annabelle seems rlly bad but yes dolls are creepy. i didn't like conjuring too much either.. .
@aeswag no i haven't seen poltergeist, the original looks good tho. havent watched insidious 2 or 3 yet and dont plan on it for a while haha!

i just downloaded "it follows" and i watched about thirty minutes of it with a friend and the shots are so beautiful! the movie is really gripping too i think it's going to be really good!

@aeswag I find Del Toro's movies to be particularly creepy :o after everything unravels, it's obviously not as scary but until then everything has me on edge.

Still gotta see the other movies directed by James Won. Like Annabelle or something. Freaking hate dolls they scare me so much.
@aeswag: Interesting! would your rather was fun! also for the ring, just search The Ring Two (2005) in pirate bay or something it might not have a lot of seeders tho
Yeah but I'm trying not to do that since I literally have so many other ways to watch movies but if it comes to it I will lol. Have you seen the poltergeist or insidious 3 yet?

@kiddiket: Honestly I liked the first way more than the 2nd. I just found it more memorable and easier to connect to the family. Also, Devil is a good one and I just saw Would You Rather and it was decent. I'm trying to finish the Ring 2 right now since I saw the first one but the only place I've found it is Amazon and that's just like a lot of work to make a pin so I can rent it on my tv lol..

@fradddd VHS 1&2 are definitely underrated! some really good scenes in them! Babadook wasn't scary as in jump-scares, but how dark it is and how it's about coping and depression and UGH it was so good and different. I was on edge while watching it..uncomfortable indeed!

@aeswag I liked mama too. haven't seen smiley but i've seen images of it around for a while. i absolutely hate paranormal activities lol, so boring nothing happens, it's just so disappointing IDK. I think i've seen the first three or four... far too many lol. you're next is good.

I also recommend seeing the purge: 2 ANARCHY. don't worry about seeing the first one, it wasn't even close to how good the second one is!

LOL I'm not trying to diss horror movies overall I'm just saying they're not the best for me. I like psychological thriller type stuff.

Mama.

Oh. My. God. To me the movie isn't necessarily scary but the story is just..amazing. Another really good movie is Oculus but it can be extremely confusing since it tells a story of the past and present at the same time and towards the end they converge. So I had to watch that movie twice to fully appreciate it but it's really good.

Some others that weren't as big that I liked were Smiley and The Taking of Deborah Logan. Other than those all the rest that I've seen are either extremely popular (The Babadook) or released in theaters (Paranormal Activity, Insidious, Sinister, etc.)

OH and and Orphan is pretty creepy but also funny at the same time.

EDIT: Just went on Netflix and another must watch is You're Next. Usually, I'm more into the paranormal stuff but I gave this movie a shot and LOVED it.

Yeah I've been trying to find decent horror movies to watch.
The only ones that actually made me react were:
As Above, So Below
Sinister

Oh yeah and I think V/H/S and V/H/S/2 are underrated. If not psychologically scary, they have pretty interesting plots.

And that's pretty much it. The Babadook wasn't very frightening. I fell asleep watching The Woman in Black but that was pretty good, I just tired.
Oh and Grave Encounters was terrible.

@misscherilyn it wasn't really a horror movie, more of a thriller, but yeah I absolutely loved that movie after the first time watching it.

@ColdAir that's what my mom says.

The only one I've watched recently is the Babadook, I don't particularly watch horror movies very often. I guess that's mainly because I don't think looking at that kind of stuff often is very good for you in general.

@kiddiket: idk it was about that time that I began watching horror movies that I challenged myself to watch insidious because everyone told me it was good. Conjuring wasn't actually that bad but near the end it just got really stupid.

I will finish watching Audition and I'll start watching Sinister too.

Oh! Exte was interesting. The movie adaptation of Spiral was.. Ok. but the manga was so much better. Freaking Junto Ito. That man has some demons haha.

Yes Sponge Bob. It's so messed up sometimes lol. Look up "Squidwards suicide". It's on Creepypasta. Probably one of the best I've ever read.
Tale of two sisters was amazing.
Never finished watching Audition
I think Insidious was legitimately scary. There were some good pop out scare moments but it depends on what you're looking for.

Shining was pretty good, though it's definitely not Gothic then it is thriller. Same with uh. Silence of the Lambs. And a few others I can't think of right now.

Some if the stuff from sponge Bob though... Legitimately horrifying.
finish watching audition! insidious was ok, i watched sinister around the sae time and i liked it a lot better...
the others are good, yes.
hahahahaha spongebob you watched it? noooooooooo o.o
