Are we ignoring the obvious solution to crackbabies

Eschewing the defined norms, has become the norm. So why don't we look into more radical solutions to extreme problems.

What I mean is, why is selling children that bad? If a mother was on crack, would it not be better to sell her child to a completely healthy adoptive couple, who could provide the child with adequate care? And in exchange the mother gets some money to feed her crack addiction. It stops her from committing a crime to satisfy her addiction. It helps a couple -- otherwise incapable of reproduction -- have a child, to love and raise as their own. And finally, it helps the child itself by providing it with an upper class (or at least middle class) environment in which to be raised. So I ask, are we ignoring the obvious? Given a situation like this, wouldn't it benefit everyone involved? Also, I was kicked from a dinner party for positing exactly this. What about it is so inappropriate?

The amount of red tape and ridiculous fees deter a LOT of people

This. We don't buy/sell human beings. That leads into issues like slavery. Sadly, the US adoption process is almost just as bad but it could be a LOT worse. CPS needs to get their act together and actually protect the child, not protect their money growing.
