General

Bowman

I've noticed a pattern when I talk about BMs.

Whenever I talk about Bow Master skills, like Hurricane, FA, Concentrate, SE, BE, *enter the rest of the skill names here because I'm too lazy*, or when I just talk about BMs in general, I always get really pumped up. xD When that happens, no matter what I'm doing on the computer, I must hop on Maple to play my BM.

I think it's because before playing a BM, I was never excited to play any other class. I've played NLs, Bishs, DBs, Arans, DrKs, I/Ls, so on and so forth; My attitude was always, "Meeeeh" for how I'd feel about the playing those classes (F/Ps, which are my second favorite class fyi, but that's another story). Mind you that my BM isn't exactly well funded compared to everyone else, but that has never mattered to me. I'm always filled with pride, love, and enjoyment in generally when I play her. > w<; No one can tell me different.

Now that's I've confessed this devoted love affair that I have for my character, does anyone else feel this way about their BM or main in general? o 3o

Edit: 0.o Guess I accidentally selected the sad face for the thread. Not sure how to change that, but oops. xD
Edit: I have been informed that'll change with more posts. Huzzah for learning new things!

yeah i agree with you. I hate WH mostly for the price inflammation of xbow's and xbow scrolls which now i cannot afford .

When ever i see threads like this it makes me want to go get back on my sniper and train (lvl 104) then i remember hat pirates sucks and is slow as ....... and then i don't want to train him any more .

Ugh, people are really ignorant when it comes to MM. 90% of my friends on my buddylist who did not have some kind of bowman didn't even know MM got SE, too. >_____>;; Seriously, I was talking about how I was glad MM were getting buffed for Big Bang and my friend went, "Lol, but they don't even have SE!"

Thats how it was with my dit pre-bb, when ever I used haste most didnt even know dits had it lol....

As the time between now and my Lv200 continues to fade, l often ponder what I will make afterwards. I considered quitting, continuing to boss every day for profits, and making a new class, maybe a shadower. But none of these things really appealed to me...so I've decided to make a new Night Lord after I accomplish Lv200!

But some people refuse to just stop being ignorant on the subject. I really do try to help people learn what is and isn't true about certain things, but they tend to find that offensive and try to put words in my mouth so I just kinda.. gave up trying. xD There's no reason to lash on people who really, honestly don't know. It just bothers me that they are willing to make talk smack about a class based on what they don't know, you know?

I feel the same exact way with my MM. I've many other characters, and I haven't gotten too far with them, I just get bored and move on, then I made my xbow few years ago and here I am now, loving it like there is no tomorrowwww. The first character I actually made on maple was a hunter instead of a xbow, but I only got her to 3x and quit.

How did your BM turn out?
*pouncehugs krissy!*

OT: I have a friend thats ALWAYS smack talking my chars. Then I play them and come to the conclusion that its cause im not exactly funded and he just feels the need to make me feel bad, when my chars aint really that bad.

Something doing lower damage on paper or close to something that youd expect to be weaker doesnt mean that its weak. That could very well be balancing (as nonxistant that seems to sound on maple...). Likewise, it might be less of im weak, more of everyone else can actually get good stuff and therefore, looks strong in comparison.

I enjoy my hero, every other char i play i suddenly get really bored of once i get to lvl 80. xD
Got a WK, Maurader, and Sniper just waiting for more work...
Sealed! > wwww< <333333333 *snuggles.*

You have some friends. D: But, I never talk smack about your characters! I shall beat them up for you. u.u This I swear on all my Krissy characters!

Quit my bowmaster for a dawn warrior, went back.
Quit my bowmaster for a I/L mage, went back.
Quit my bowmaster for a battle mage, went back.

I see a little bit of a pattern here.

I like hunting and farming things from my BM. Its fun to try to not get hit by strategizing. I quit it though because I didnt like how people always told me i needed to HP wash. I didnt start playing my BM again until i got decent hyper body. I like f/p mages too.

I used to feel the same way about my I/L.

I was obsessed with him, absolutely loved him, played on him all the time.

Then I quit for some reason, came back because I heard about the big bang, and can no longer play him because it just sucks.

However, I currently am in love with my spearman. I can't wait to be 3rd job and run around just smashing everything's skull in.

*wanders off to go play on my spearman*
Yeah, I played my cleric for a good while... but never really connected to her. I was leveling because other people wanted me to level, not because I wanted to level. Eventually it just got tiring and became a chore; it wasn't fun and I wasn't enjoying it. :[
I was in the same situation on my Hero. It had great stats, great gear, and people were always asking me to help them train/fight bosses on it and kept telling me to level more and it definitely had the chore-like feeling. So on the day I was scheduled to go on my first Zak run ever on it (this was back when 4th job was recently released on GMS, so it was a big deal lol), I told everyone in the run "screw it," and I quit it right before getting to the altar, gave the account info to a friend on Scania, and went back to my lowly Hermit back in Broa. Never looked back since! xD

Edit: Was also the day I quit SW forums. Angry people from that run spammed my mail there lol. xD
To me, it's arguably the best feeling you can get from this game when you find a job(s) that you are always excited to play on. It's why I always support the addition of new jobs. I love my NL and rarely ever play my other characters in comparison and I enjoy my Evan nearly as much, but I know there are players out there that are still looking for that "glass slipper job," so additional jobs can help them do that. xD

I'm always happy to see others when they've found that glass slipper job, and despite always jumping in to tell people that they should quit their jobs if they don't enjoy it as much, I can only imagine how bad it feels to drop the job you thought maybe was "the one." xD

Edit: Well, I guess I could imagine in a way. I quit a superb Hero and amazing F/P to continue my Hermit, which of course is now my NL. But I never fully thought those jobs would be the one for me (Hero, maybe for a brief period, but I still kept looking back at my Hermit then). But yeah, there are players that do try so hard to "enjoy" a job they're just not gelling with and that's when it gets tough. xD
Yeah, I played my cleric for a good while... but never really connected to her. She actually had quit Maple altogether when she pushed me in that direction. I never even knew what a BM had to offer at the time, so I didn't really think of them all too highly. I'm glad she told me about them, though, because I've been in love since the first day.
I simply love bow-wielding class/character in every game I play: Diablo, Warcraft, SRO, Ragnarok... Admit it, bows look so kickass
I agree! Bow-wielding classes are generally fun to play in most games, even console games. Aside from the "bowman" in Legend of Dragoon. e___e "Whoo, she fires an arrow... while everyone else has combo attacks! YAY!"

Definitely. Im just posessed with this character and I dont think I can stop playing it until it reaches level 200.

Though after then I'll probably just end up making another one, or a marksman ^^

I am now the opposite. My BM 154 is decently funded with epic equips and decent HP,
but I realized that BMs are not good in LHC compared to say, shadowers or warriors, etc.

I'm really glad to see true BM pride though and I still have it as well (just waiting till they buff up BM).

GOOO BOWMASTERS!
Yeah, I feel you there. But with the release of LHC, it has literally cut my training time in half, if not more. Go for it! :] <3 Take it from someone who took a three month break a few weeks after BB was released.
I feel the same way. I have several other classes, but I've never been as attached to a class as I have been to my BM. I won't be able to play another character until I get to 200. With the introduction of LHC, that doesn't feel as far away as it used to be.
I've noticed how much of a godsend LHC is, myself. I recently came back to Maple in the past couple of weeks after a three month hiatus and I was able to level twice in a week compared the... three levels I had gotten since BB was released before I took my vacation away from Maple. Granted, I haven't been playing constantly since I've gotten back, but I'm impressed none-the-less.
I definitely feel more for my BM than any of my many other jobs.

In fact, back in September '09 when my old BM was hacked, I was going to make something else. Probably a marksman. But then I looked at my videos of my BM, and I absolutely had to make another.

As for servers, I have always been in Windia. Sadly, I really hate the server. It's over-populated and full of damage hoars. I am staying however, ecause I have a huge friend base there.
Sorry about your previous BM, but I'm glad you felt so strongly to make another. :] Sometimes when forced to make a fresh start, things can go so much smoother and better in the long run because of knowing what to expect.

I can understand; I use to be in Windia myself back before the 4th jobs came out and even then, it was chaotic. FoG was always full, LPQ was impossible to get into without some kind of tracking system, and dear god there were vac. hackers at every corner of the map. D: But, I enjoyed my stay there and it was my first server, so it is dear to me none-the-less. There were many kind and wonderful people I had met there, but it was just too crowded for my tastes.
Hey my name is Krissy too!
On the other hand, I LOVE playing my Ranger. I want to get it to 120 soon for the epic Hurricane!
Name stealer! Give it back, you heathen!

The 4th job is definitely where bowmen become the most fun. Fun fact: when facing monsters, I always think to myself, "I'm going rock you; like a Hurricane." 8D
If only you were in Scania we would be best friends.
:] To be fair, I've been in a majority of the servers. I'm just very attached to Bellocan because while I've played the busier servers like Windia and Bera for an extended time, I like how Bello is moderate in activity. It can be dead as a door nail at the late hours or be extremely busy during the day. And I like that, because it makes getting to know people easier.

People who do leave Bello go to Scania, actually. 9/10 of my friends that transfer go to that server. Not quite sure why that is, though. o.o

Oh, I couldn't think of any other skills to name and didn't want to find a list of all of the names (like Focus or... Marksmanship I think it's called, for example), so it's an action to "include" all of the ones I may have missed.
