@NuggetsOnCrack: Because you had the chance to unlock it to its full potential and you ruined it.

Well, you just made your iDevice another useless locked up Apple drone.
@lezhu: welp...facebook, instagram, skype (which I really want to update), and my t-pain app (don't ask) won't update!
i think i had a few games that wouldn't update as well...but in all seriousness, get the 5th gen
OUCH! Those are some main apps! And if you tryna update em wat happens?

The 4th generation is absolute crap compared to the 5th generation. It's a solid system I admit but it's old tech dude, why get that when you can get something better. $150 for a 4th generation?
4th generation ($150) specs :
-0.7 MP camera / VGA quality front camera
-720p Recording (rear) / VGA quality (front)
-Faulty "Retna Display"
-A4 Processor (Single Core)
-16 GB Storage
-3.5 inch screen
5th generation ($300) specs :
-5MP Camera / 1.2 MP front Camera
-1080p Recording (rear) / 720p recording (front)
-TRUE Retna Display
-A5 Processor (Dual Core)
-32 GB Storage
-4 inch screen
For double the price you're expected to get 2x the better performance and the storage capacity which is very important. I recommend you go for the $300. If money is an issue I really recommend you get the Samsung Galaxy Player 5.0 / 4.2, very solid device and is far better than the 4th generation.

My phone is 4Gb so i got used to store just what i hear and just what i play, 16gb is nice to me (:
Hell no go for the 5th gen.
Isn't 16gb too little?
yeah girls will not be impressed.
i have a 4th gen iPod and I'm about 4 seconds away from throwing it at the wall because I can't update some apps (which causes them to shut down)
your best bet: get the 5th gen
Depends on the price, what is it?
Isn't 16gb too little?
Get Angry Birds and be happy.
If there are apps you really want to use that are only supported by the 5th gen ipod, get a 5th gen ipod.
