Kanna

Soul Shear

There's no way to turn off the passive effect, is there?

@Marceaux: You have to activate Soul Shear itself to detonate them as-is. This precludes being able to activate the skill to toggle it instead.
By contrast, Meso Explosion is active-only. The skill that causes the mesos to drop is another one entirely, so there's no such issue with skill overlap.

In addition, I feel there should be an additional effect on Monkey Spirits or a passive on Vanquisher's Charm which detonates some number of orbs at a set probability; for the sake of balance, perhaps the number of orbs detonated would be lower and/or would hit fewer monsters. It hits 15 right now IIRC. This would solve the problem of having orbs litter the screen and only being able to clear ~75 of them per 8 seconds to the exclusion of casting any other skills. Depending on the enemies present, that would be a small fraction of the number you'd create.

Finally, the skill needs to crit. Mesplosion already does now.
I would hope that they make Soul Shear actually useful/act like Pickpocket + Meso Explosion. It also should be a toggle skill, with another skill actually detonating the orbs.
I agree with the toggle, but im confused about what you are saying about detonating the orbs, there is already a skill that does that

Haha so true @Axnslicer

Yeah, in the inevitable (?) retooling of Kanna, I would hope that they make Soul Shear actually useful/act like Pickpocket + Meso Explosion. It also should be a toggle skill, with another skill actually detonating the orbs.

I can now never again turn on sound effects when playing my Kanna without remembering this...

Soul fragments, not blood. Not that the distinction really matters, but if I think about it as blood I need to turn away from my screen.

@Inoru: Yeah that's what I mean. But then again, the good drops are always buried under a sea of etc., useless potions, and event items (curse you frozen D!) anyway so even if I could turn off the effect, I feel like it'd have little impact.

Nope. It's a minor inconvenience, but since kannas with Kishin increased spawn tend to leave trails of items anyway, not like I'd pick them up myself. In the end, I'm still going to rely on a pet for that.

Nope, no way whatsoever. It gets kinda annoying. Unless you really want to spend money on an SP reset (or an event) just for that.
