I spent all day redownloading the game and

....apparently the game can't update because I don't have the latest game client installed.
I installed it from the website. Today. Took a few hours with my crap internet. What do I do besides set my laptop on fire. Please tell me there is a work-around for this.

What everyone else said. It could even be that your download was corrupted. MapleStory is just that kind of weird

Additionally, might try cleaning out your computer? Not physically, but if you have a lot of junk (especially on an SSD) it can slow the computer down some and cause errors. Use something like CCleaner to dump the junk. And make sure your computer/laptop isn't shutting down while you download - that'll mess it up as well.
Finally, make sure nothing else is downloading in the background (like Windows Update or a torrent host) before downloading again. THOSE can slow things down as well!

Good luck!

@powerguy121 did something with my internet connection cause the download to screw up or something?[/quote]

Maple is just weird, make sure you completely delete everything (nexon folder and uninstall maplestory) before redownloading.
Use internet explorer to download, and then install it like normal. Remove your history/cookies/cache before downloading though.
What you can also try is restarting your modem/router (leave it off for 30 seconds and restart them both) before downloading as well.
Other than that you should be good to go.

Nah, but by the sound of it, it sounds like your internet download speed isn't too good. Just make sure you delete every trace of maplestory. Then redownload and install
