For those of you who plays the modern Yu-Gi-Oh

Konami just trolled us XD :
http://www.yugioh-card.com/uk/products/tin2011wave1.html

Unprecedented!
That's the only word to describe the 2011 Yu-Gi-Oh! TCG Collectible Tins.

This year's first two tins give you more bang for your buck than ever before:

5 booster packs of the year's hottest sets (2 Storm of Ragnarok, 2 Extreme Victory, 1 Generation Force)
1 Secret Rare Xyz Monster
1 Super Rare "Pot of Duality" Spell Card
3 more Super Rare variants of out-of-print cards.
If you tried to get the contents of this tin separately, it would take you a lot of time and work. But to help celebrate the holiday season, and our upcoming 10th Anniversary, you can get it all in one place at a bargain price!

There are two different designs with two different huge monsters on them:

The Number 17: Leviathan Dragon Collectible Tin features one of the first black-framed Xyz Monsters. This terror from the deep is easy to Summon, you just need 2 Level 3 monsters on the field. It starts off at 2000 Attack Points, but can instantly increase to 2500, then to 3000 ATK on the following turn! The best strategy is to combo this card with your Level 3 monsters that have effects you can only use once. After you've gotten what you need from those monsters, "Number 17: Leviathan Dragon" gives you an easy way to turn those used-up Level 3 monsters into a Dueling powerhouse!

The Wind-Up Zenmaister Collectible Tin features another early Xyz Monster. This clockwork commander requires just 2 Level 4 monsters to Xyz Summon. Once on the field, you can use its Xyz Materials to flip your monsters face-down, then face-up again. This is a great way to get multiple shots out of your Flip Effect Monsters, or to re-use the effects of your Wind-Up monsters from Generation Force and other booster pack sets, or to get rid of any nasty effects your opponent has put on your monsters.

Whether you're picking this up for yourself or shopping for a Duelist you know, this is a money-saving opportunity that you literally cannot afford to miss.

Number 17: Leviathan Dragon Collectible Tin contents:
2 packs of Storm of Ragnarok
2 packs of Extreme Victory
1 pack of Generation Force
1 Secret Rare card: "Number 17: Leviathan Dragon"
1 Super Rare card: "Dark Simorgh"
1 Super Rare card: "Pot of Duality"

Amazing
you can't compare upstart to pot of duality. if you've actually used PoD in a deck you would know how great the card is.
Upstarts feed traps like warnings or tools. PoD "thins" your deck better (you get to pick from 3 cards instead of 1 random card). You can always play around the special summon restriction like a good player would
Let me rephrase. I tested with my friend's PoD but had more success with upstart since I played a swarming type of deck. Useful card indeed but with many draw backs. I've pulled game winning cards using upstart, but again that's just my opinion.

Old school ftw.

Upstart works better since you can actually thin your deck to 37 cards as well as special summon... in some cases at least.

PoD is over hyped. I'm glad I never used it.
Where I am lonefires aren't that hard to find. Everyone I meet up with to duel/trade at my library we all have 2+ lonefires.

I'm not denying that Pot is a great card but I think its way overhyped. I seen a lot of situations that they use it thinking they can get out of a jam but most of the time they cant its a great opening move card though.

@zeff there are plenty of magician synchros and alot of magician support in the newer cards.
Magicians arent really played a lot though they do have the support though and yea I guess Pot is Over hyped XD
I need Lonefires D: So hard to get
@Zeff : Uhhhh the new decks are based around Synchros and Xyz (Exceeds) now. Magicians arent really "good" I would say. They have good support but nothing Tier 1 or 2 Only card that could be useful would be Pot of Duality, but thats a card thats useful in every deck XD
Interesting. So my deck is pretty much crappy, compared to everyone else now? xD
Any ideas on what the "norm" deck types are? Or at least, the decent ones. (I'm surprised Magicians aren't that great anymore. Stuff like Dark Eradicator sure beat the crap outta my opponents back in the day)

Anything in those tins good for Magician Decks?
I feel that all the new cards and the like all turn in favor for dragon decks. (So many synchro dragons)

I've been using my old deck with my cousin but we haven't bought any of the new cards yet.

I knew about this too, I told my friends and they all rejoiced mainly because they had a P.O.D and traded them off already for synchros. I also got arhlord Krystias from a guy that said "there coming out common anyway" back when they were around 30.

Wut. I don't play anymore, but it was a giant pain in the ass trading with friends to get all holographic XYZ cannon cards.
