Nervous driving

Hello basil. So i drive just fine when i'm alone but when I drive with friends, I get really nervous and scared. All I think about is how I might get in an accident and kill them. It's like their life is in my hands and I don't want anything to hurt them. I especially don't want to be responsible for causing them pain or their families pain. How do i get over this? I drove friends a couple times but this always happens every time I drive them. Have you guys experienced this? Any advice and help would be appreciated. Thanks!

the same thing happens for me ):
i believe being afraid of driving is normal since it can easily lead to death and no one really wants to die
driving really is a scary experience, it's so easy to get into an accident o.o
I never drive my parents even after i got my license cause they make me too nervous.
Just think that if you're friends trust you enough to put their life in your hand, obviously they know you are a good driver and you will take good care of them.

It took about six months of me driving alone before I let someone else (other than immediate family) be my passenger. Get pretty comfortable driving alone first. It helps if your passenger is someone you're close to and you can relax more around them. Complete silence with my friend made me more nervous (which is strange, since talking would be a distraction technically). Just be extra careful and try not driving new roads for the first time if you can avoid it.

It just takes a bit of time and practice, as cliche as it is. [/quote]

I think this is just common place. Especially for people who just started driving/driving others. I've had tons of college friends who I work with have this problem. We teach at a preschool and some of the people are required to be drivers. Lots of them are afraid of driving us for fear of crashing.

Just remember that not only are you risking your friends' lives, but the lives of all the drivers around you as well

Just remember if you aren't confident you're more likely to get into an accident. So the best solution is just trust you know what you're doing and drive like you would if you're alone.

Just keep driving them and you'll get used to it.
