I never really saw a need to use macros for any character; even if you have several buffs, I found the freedom of being able to rebuff whatever way you want to be rather useful. For Buccaneers, I could really only see Admiral's Wings/Dark Clarity/Crossbones being useful to macro due to each having a similar duration; Roll of the Dice/Stimulating Conversion/Epic Adventure cannot be macro'd, Knuckle Booster/Speed Infusion/Maple Warrior have odd times that don't fit with other skills... it just seems weird to me. It also prevents you from reacting to certain moves due to the nature of a macro, but hey, whatever works!

Once I can download the update tomorrow I'll post/edit in order to show my setup; I usually have a similar setup for pretty much every class with 'dedicated' keys for various 'types' of moves(For example "C" is generally a rush, "X" is a bind if possible, Page-Up is generally a defense buff, etc...). Considering I sometimes bounce around characters, it helps with memory; although I don't stick to it vehemently a lot of the time, it generally just tends to be the way that a setup feels 'comfortable' to use for me.

I use A for HP and D for Mana pots(not like you really need them). Then from letter F-" I set those as attacks. Then insert, home, etc. are buffs.

I haven't changed it back since when the macros were glitched, and now I actually find it better to keep them separate for bossing. I have pets to auto-buff me too.
My entire left side of the keyboard has all of the attacking skills put onto the buttons, 1, 2, 3, 4, and 5 are special buffs (epic adv, echo, etc), and ins, del, PgUp, and home are common buffs.
My 4th job and most used skills are in the z-row, with rush on shift. Circumstantial skills that I abuse whenever I can are mostly in the a-row (I'm looking at you: sommersault, unity, and sharks). The rest of the attacking skills are scattered around the q-row and such "just in case" and for fun!

If someone else were to look at my keyboard, they might wonder why I make things so complicated for myself.
