Maplestorys gone downhill

Hi, another rant about maple, which I'm assuming is fairly common nowadays. I already quit a while back, but I stll get back on every once in a while to see if my dislike of current maple has changed, and so far it hasn't, which is a shame. It was actually a decent game for a while, even with all the money making by Nexon running, since they could be ignored and the game wouldn't have felt too different.

I really love a lot of the new content (areas, classes, equips), but the game has become far too money-centric for it to feel fun. I'm somewhat concerned that this game might actually be dying, and it irks me quite a lot to see it go this way. I still goon every once in a while to explore the new stuff and play the new classes -- thunder breaker is by far one of the most fun classes I've ever played, and zero was a lot of fun to go through. A lot of people I know have said that big bang ruined Maple, which I don't find to be true; I've had a lot more fun playing post-BB maple than I did pre-BB maple, though I would rather maple have kept the old maps with the current content, seeing as fast travel and mobility creep mean using the bigger maps isn't a problem.

Old maple was also pretty terrible, as I'm reminded every day while I play a more realistic old school pizza slice. Strangely enough, I really enjoy playing old school Runescape and still think it is vastly superior to current Runescape in everything but graphics, but people are right about old Maple -- it was the community that made it what it was. I'm playing an old school hero right now, and trying to gain 120+ levels using nothing but power strike and slash blast was utter hell. HP washing is bs, skills require prior knowledge to distribute correctly (coughcough old warrior FA), and genesis-spam leech is back to being the fastest way to train. It's honestly not as much fun as Maple used to be a couple years back, which really says something about the current state of Maple when I prefer the old school stuff. It's missing a lot of my favorite content -- My Lung Dojo, Magatia, CWKPQ, Scarlion/Targa, LHC, Aran/DB/Cannoneer/Phantom, Edelstein, RA, Commercial, etc. One really big thing that this server gets correct, though, is the existence of meaningful events and useful quests that actually provide ample experience. I don't know what made Nexon decide to make every single one of the 10 ongoing events at any time entirely useless and meaningless, but it sure as hell isn't gratifying at all.

I was gonna rant some more, but I feel like I'm just regurgitating what everyone's already accepted.
But that's not true. You can go on just enough to get a few reward points a day and do some Gollux farming once a day all under the span of an hour to an hour and a half easily. That alone is enough to keep afloat, and that's not factoring how easy it can be to get 30 nut coins a day from DiPQ dropping cases for coins. The stuff in the shop can sell for decent amounts if people buy service from you, so there's that.
Someone playing casually nowdays can make it significantly farther than before, no doubt about that.
it's ironic they're so obsessed with cash but the staff hardly try and give back, it's a copy and paste of kms and the only highlights these days are cash shop updates.

People who still play are those who spent lots of time and or money, or too attached to it since they played MapleStory for years. Despite what people say, as long as people spend money on this game, it's not going to ' die out '; but yes, the population has been declinng for various reasons--- people grow out of it, too repetitive, pay2win, etc. We ( the players), are masochists and Nexon is a sadist and that's reality. It's going to be ten years this year, and good riddance, they have the worst customer service.. times have changed and change is inevitable, Nexon needs to get it to their thick heads that pleasing their customers in the best way possible is/ should be their number one priority due to that fact that as technology gets more advanced, people move on to other things and they need to keep/ hook the CURRENT players to stay/ be devoted to their company
