Is it worth it jumping back in?

Bored and thinking about coming back to MS since there's nothing better to do, but is it worth it?
Are people still active and friendly or do I have to be level 250 before people notice I exist?

I just hate grinding but I loved sitting around doing nothing and talking to strangers, 'cept the last time there were no strangers to talk to...
This time?

OP said that he had nothing to do in reality, so the fact that you're playing games with 'physical friends' not online friends tends to count as reality if i remember correctly.

I recommend running away from MapleStory. I am from Scania though, so many of my biases may not be relevant to other worlds.

Don't become a hene-hoe. Unless you really think those type of online friends are really worth the time. They may just disappear one day. There are plenty of other fun communities if you need strangers to talk to.

Most people on Maple now in day are more incline to solo, exception being FEW Party Quests and Bosses. I've joined many parties and people just AFK or have nothing interesting to say. The most I get are braggers, not just about their accounts and gears, but also their rank in Leagues... that and noob beggars. Scania community is quite annoying because people keep megaphoning their scammers and gears they spent hundreds of dollars on. These weird adults think they're really popular and I don't think I've ever seen more scammers than nowadays.

Don't get me wrong, there are still a few people out there who are friendly. I'm just not really a person looking to be-friend anyone though, so we just sort of talk then I don't care to see them ever again. The new friends I've made since coming back about a month ago don't really say anything and some have even stopped logging on.

Aside from socializing, MapleStory is still under the control of money hungry Nexon. If you want to be pro, you're gonna have to spend a lot of money or exploit. Even then, what's the point? People will just judge your gear harshly.

I only play to help fund RL friends who still play because I'm still have some experience merching in Maple and I take them bossing. Plus Nexon keeps giving my mule accounts Maple Points to come back. Hehe...

Supposing you really feel some need to play again, I suggest joining a big guild if you don't want to die of boredom. This is one thing I'm not involved in since I run a guild with just RL friends. I have enjoyed many Maple moments with guildies.

Playing a game during a friday night, instead of going out, idk bowling with your friends. Are you sure you're not the dull one?
OP: Regardless of the world you're playing at (since world merges), you should be able to find people to talk to by hene hoeing or creating a new character to party quest.[/quote]

Recently, I joined back in Maplestory yesterday. I gave away over 60 mil mesos to complete strangers, and now I've been getting recognized some how as a maple helper for those who are coming back to maple after a 3 year hiatus. To be honest, it does kinda feel good to help people out, however it doesn't feel good being spammed over 30 trade request at once either. Luckily, out of the 30 trade boxes, over 14 new maplers filled my buddy tab, in which was once empty of 50 slots, lol. @Graystoke: Good point about friendships, however, I have met one person and I' am still in contact with to this day, after 4 years. Originally he was the one who got me hooked on maplestory back in midleschool, 7th grade. lol I'm a senior in Highschool now XD WAIT THATS 5 YEARS HOLY CRAP!

It shouldn't be. And compared to maple, the friendships you make won't really last as they would irl. Most of the people I meet in maple, even if ai have a long convo with them, if theyre not in my guild, I almost never see them again

@meepit I feel ya there, reality's been kinda no bueno lately for me. I ain't in Bera, but if you're ever at zenith I wouldn't mind talking or hanging out or anything.

if you're down to meet new people and find new friends, it would be a good idea !
There's always the option of hene hoeing!
but other than that I wouldn't recommend o.o
Thankfully i did find myself a close group of friends I really like, but we talk on social media more than on maplestory

I'd imagine just henehoing and stuff gets you to talk to strangers
R&J can too. And partying at stronghold, I guess.
