Is it my side or Riot games side?
Ping is gone to around 400 for the past few days ever since i got a new computer. Never used to be that high. Please someone help me out. I live in New Zealand, but i never used to lag with such high ping i dont know why its doing this. Maybe it is the computer but which part?
Edit: My ping on speedtest is around 30 but on LoL its like 300

Think of ping like something you're shipping.
What takes longer,
sending something from North American to Australia or sending something from.. Let's say California to Washington?
The data you send from New Zealand to the US is sent a longer distance than it would be from New Zealand to, let's say Australia.
If you're able to play in servers located in your area of the world, use one of those instead.
And also, your internet speed does matter.
Next time try picking a server far away from you on speedtest and you'll see why you lag in game
My ISP is from Sweden:

@ OP: yeah, your end. riot's servers are in california. it's pretty obvious you would have high ping.

Quit and play DotA, ping is 35.
It spikes every 2 seconds for me
If I'm not mistaken, New Zealand's average ping is around 150~200+.
This has happened to me in the last few days also
i got between 80-140 now i get 800-2000

Stop with all the corn man. It's making your computer full. Causing it to pop like popcorn.
It's detrimental where their servers are located and which server you are playing
I could play this (really fun) game called Bloodline Champions; if I play their NA server I get like 60 ping, if I play their Europe servers I get 300+ ping

Turn off all background programs. I have LoLRecorder on and it sometimes causes me to spike to beyond 500ping when im usually stable at 30~40
