Title!
Please, so I don't feel so badly.

I didn't even get in an accident. It was ALMOST one though, but this is more about the whole experience.
Here goes:

At 10:00pm I'm headed to my friends house...(boring stuff)
...I was going to turn left on to a main road, there was a car signaling to turn right to the road I was on. It was moving extremely slow and wasn't all the way to the right like most of the cars turning on to my street do. I was impatient and didn't see any other cars. I started to pull up and still didn't see any, but when I actually started making my way to the other side, there was another car coming straight at me. At first I hit the brakes cause it scared me, but then I hit the gas to get out of the way while they hit the brakes and maneuvered out of the way too.

There was no collision of our cars, and after looking (from inside my car) to make sure the other car didn't crash, I started heading towards my destination. But immediately the other car turned around and started tailgating me. I knew they wanted me to pull over so I drove a little ways and pulled in to a lit parking lot and they parked beside me.

I got out, and they (two people, man and woman-total hillbillies) got out. They were furious and were yelling obscenities at me while I just kept fervently apologizing. I told them it was completely my fault and would pay for any damages that might have been sustained. They were still yelling at me and would reply with things like, "Yeah, it IS your fault" "Sorry doesn't cut it!" "You could have KILLED us!" "We could have ran into a telephone pole" -things like that but much meaner.

The woman (passenger) was the meanest. I can't believe how rude she and her (I'm guessing) husband were. I know this IS my fault, and they have every right to be angry, but there's a mature way to go about it instead of hounding a 17 year old girl until she cries. The woman said something along the lines of, "You ------ up this car! You're gonna fix it! I can't SEE anything wrong with it, but it IS ------ up and you're gonna ------- fix it!"

Yeah, there was absolutely no visible damage, but they said they went over a curb. I personally don't believe there is any damage at all. But I feel as if they're gonna do something to their car, or try to blame a preexisting problem on me.

I offered, then they demanded, my insurance information, and while I gave them all of my information, they didn't give me ANY of theirs, not even a name or number. There was no police report, but later when I made it to my friends house I filed an insurance claim. The driver even called and demanded my drivers license number -is that even needed?-, but then my friends mom asked to talk to him and calmly asked for his information and for him to talk to my insurance company instead of me. The whole time you could hear him yelling through the phone.

Anyways, Sorry for such a long story. This has been on my mind all night.

My ironic story:

I went to take my permit test, which I put off for 3 years. Blah blah waiting line, test, passed, etc. So, I was in the car with my mom as we're driving home and she's doing the regular mom chat with what you should do in life, etc. etc. As she's driving she's moving her neck back and forth, talking to me and looking at the road. But at the time she's looking at me, she doesn't see this car. So, I yell STOP! A CAR! and she hits the bumper of the car. Right in the middle of a busy intersection; and we're blocking traffic. Good thing it wasn't her fault though, since the car ran a red light. That lady had poor senses, like I was watching the road and she went after the light turned red like 5 secs after. Good thing a cop was right there, actually. That's it, and the lady agreed to pay all the damages and whatnot.
I do feel that that could bite me in some way, but I mean, it WAS my fault. I was the one who didn't make sure it was clear to turn, and I feel it would be immature to not own up to it.

But if it was a team effort car accident, I would keep my mouth shut and let the insurance guys decide what's up.
I know what you mean. Personally, if I'm ever in an accident which is my fault, I'm gonna have the desire to tell them it was my fault...
That sucks... I heard that you're never supposed to say that it's "my fault."

I've never been in an accident with my parents, and I've only been driving by myself for a bit over a month.

The worst one I've ever seen was on my way to a hockey game and a van was tipped roof-first into a tree, so the roof was collapsed right over the driver's seat. There were about 20 firefighters and 10 cops, and a couple ambulances on the scene, and I was sure the people were dead. I heard after my game that the driver was the only one in the vehicle, and she walked away. It was pretty amazing.
