Getting skillbooks early on unfunded
I started playing maplestory again a few days ago after a few years break, and I've found myself a new level 120 Aran, and have reached the point where I have more skill points than I can use (unless I want to spend points in Maple Warrior, but I'll be dead before I can afford the mastery books, and MW10 alone isn't worth it).
Unfortunately, it seems the skill books I need only drop from Zakum 3, at least according to basilmarket's item section. Does anyone know if it's possible to solo Zakum at around my level, having maxed all my 4th job skills except for Maple Warrior?
I have an attack range of about 10-12k. Not entirely sure how good this is, but I assume fairly bad given most of my items are drops, quest rewards, or Aran items I happen to have found on the ground, and I doubt I can fund myself with 18mil (nor do I know what would even be good to buy, the market's completely different with potentials added to the game).
I know a while back soloing zakum around this level would be near impossible, but I hear talk of people doing it regularly now, so I'm not entirely sure. Is it possible for me to solo zakum at my current state, and if not, what would be the best way to reach the point where I can? Or, alternatively, are there any other ways to get the skill books I need? Any help is appreciated.

Update for me, was able to solo Hilla at Level 135. I've killed her 4 times so far, and no skills books, heh figures. But I am getting Occult Cube everytime. Would like to try Root Abyss if I can find a partner.

I'm just waiting for Red update now, I try Hilla about every few level, getting closer and closer hehe. But now im just working on link skill mules for the Aran, working on a Kanna and Demon Slayer at the moment. Hopefully I get a few char slots so I can make a Phantom and Hayato for link skills.
There is always Root Abyss. I've seen a decent amount of Aran books drop during my runs.
Just tested it again, I was 115 while entering and left with +level and 80%. My HP 11,757. I used the yellow Monster Park Potion naturally my hp is 9757.
My range buffed is 20,801 - 24,441 with only 32% boss. The run took about 20 minutes, but honestly, it was terrifying, the high risk of death due to 1/1 doesn't make zakum worth it.
I only used about 5 all cures throughout the whole battle, which was used while fighting the body.
I ran through about 93 50% elixers, 100 6k hp pots, and about , 50 4k hp pots, these were used while fighting body. I was spamming potions. Though, Spamming OS will help you avoid stun, it wont matter since you will need to pot every attack you receive and when you stop attacking your stunned.
I have level 10 OS, 10 AFA, and 10 Mastery.
EDIT: I edited the time, I finished at 32 minutes didnt know time started at 50minutes, so run was 20 minutes.
My level 101 Aran has a 16k range unbuffed but I doubt I could fight Zakum and I need the books too. I'll just til RED to continue playing him though.
The real answer is to buy nx and upgrade so that hilla, zak , etc die in one hit
If you're in Bello/Nova. I'd gladly take you on a few Hilla/Zak runs to get your books.
Zakum is easily soloable if you are diligent when fighting the body. I am used to playing on my paladin so I was floored at how easy it was for me to die. Stay off the body. Use percent potions that heal both health a d mana. And use green potion to attack, and constantly gauge hp. Also be careful of accidently activati g rush attack when fighting body. I have only 8k health at 114 so that's like instadeath

I am unfunded Aran, I tried Hilla a few times at 25k Range at lvl 128 I think. Got her down to 25% when time ran out.
I think with RED Update, they are taking the skill books out of the game, so Aran and Evan won't need skill books atleast that is the way I read it, maybe someone can confirm it who plays KMS.
You most likely can solo...but it might take 30+ minutes. Honestly with the new Aran revamp it might be faster. I've been too lazy to get on and try my new damage on my aran so -shrugs-. If you were in Broa I could help you get the books.

oh, if Hilla drops the Aran skill books i can certainly help you kill her. No prequests there
You might be able to solo but it will take a while.
I would ask a buddy or guildie to help you kill Hilla (you can access this in the dimensional portal-Azwan) because she drops skill books fairly often whereas zakum does not.
Also if some of them are funded you can ask them to fight root abyss bosses for you (provided you do the prequests).
Or if you're lazy, just wait a month or two because you will be able to buy books from a shop in an upcoming patch (save up your money though).
I would help you with fighting zakum, but I also need help with those darn prequests
