Should people be banned for possession of duped items?

I'm just curious as to what the majority of Basilers think. Please read the entire thread before selecting any of the options.

To elaborate:

Specifically, duped items with unreasonable advantages or have nx-free alternatives, such as (but not limited to): VSS, Racc Masks, Arkarium Rings, "perfected" Stormcaster Gloves, Gold Emerald Earrings, and commonly duped weapons (perfect scrolled e-weapons, 256 VIP daggers, 258 Empress Daggers, etc.).

Please exclude duped items that do not have as large an advantage or have no nx-free alternative, including (but not limited to): clean weapons (clean e-weapons, etc.), White Scrolls, and 50%'s from your consideration of the following questions.

Note that this is an opinion poll. Please represent your opinion as accurately as possible. Votes are, as always, anonymous, so please do not hesitate for fear of being judged.
Q1: Should people be banned for possession of the aforementioned items?
Q2: Should the aforementioned items be removed from the game?

The first "No" or "Yes" answers the first question, and the second corresponds to the second question. For example, if you answer no to Q1 but yes to Q2, please select the option "No, yes."

People could buy them legitly without knowing they were duped. In this case, they did nothing that would make them deserve to get banned.

I think they should be deleted. I have no opinion towards the first question, though.

if duped items are gone, the whole market would crash not to mention, almost everyone has a duped item

As someone who doesn't possess duped items, I voted yes.
If I had duped items I would've voted no.

I chose the | no, yes | option because, to be honest most players who possess the items probably paid with their own money. They had only the goal of being a top player, if not the best.

Don't forget the 16x or 2xx vip kataras. I'd actually consider playing another attacking class again but until then, I refuse to touch duped stuff. Ele starves that were mass duped with 24x+ magic att also got to go although empress does give them a run for their money at least.

So? It's just an opinion poll.

I can't see the poll options as I am on my phone...bored in class lol.

OT: couple of months ago, I came back from a looooong maple break and had enough cash to buy a duped vss being sold in fm. At the time, I didn't know that it was duped. With that said, I admit to using duped items but I didn't know that what I was buying was duped. I'm one of those "innocent" or rather naive idiots that unknowingly bought a duped item. Had I known that what I was about to buy was duped, I wouldn't have bought it. I can't let go of the vss now as it provides a major boost to my damage. I'd suggest that the dupers themselves get banned. It would be nice if nexon just locks the duped equips to the character it's already on. I would, of course, not be THAT butthurt when they delete them but I would still whine about it.

Btw, I didn't even know there were duped clean equips...the market is very risky now. If nexon were to ban people to having/using duped items then lots of the higher levelled people will be banned. Now, there's an even larger crowd of those that I called "naive idiots" (myself included) to consider when/if they delete the duped items.

I'd suggest for everyone to check out their inventories and check all their items above 100mil that you got from someone else, how sure are you that your items are not duped? How would you feel if they're deleted out of nowhere?

Really? You're asking these questions on basil of all places? It's no wonder more people voted for no,yes than for yes,yes (as of the time I post this).

OT: Nexon is keeping those obvious duped items still in the game simply because they don't care, it's not an ethics issue, nor are any of duped items/scrolls/whatever any good for the game. The fact that duped items crowd the market is no excuse to keep them in the game either. Removing anything duped would improve the economy tenfold and would set an example.
Mr. TnG, you know that most of the highly duped items are thief items, mostly the equips, dagger, and cane, (maybe claw too)
1. how do we know that clean equips arent duped?
2. what do you propose an alternative to the equips that are obviously the best bang for the meso ?

an example: take me, i go to ToT and Future evere for about an hour a day, collect maybe 2 or 3 gallant emblems a day, i eventually saved enough to make some pauldrons and rising sun equips ( recipes ive obtained during virtue and chill events ) and now i have acquired roughly 400 mil, how am i to know that clean raven horn gear in fm isnt duped? and considering the alternative of buying a 22 luk 6% luk red pirate top, how am i to know that isnt duped as well? should i buy armor for luk scrolls that maybe have been duped and scroll my own equips that i find and or make?

im on the fence about this, help me out here
I realize that some duped items are just nigh impossible to avoid if you want meaningful damage, which is why I described the kind of duped items included and excluded. Items affected would be the ones that have alternatives and are so painfully obviously duped. Ones like a 22 luk 6% luk red pirate top would not be affected at all.
Yes. I'm all for it.
But make it so if you have 5 or less, you simply get them deleted and an in-game message explaining the situation. If you have 6-10 of these items on your account, you get the items removed and a brief ban. If you have more than 10, you get permanently banned.
I quite like this idea.

I agree that duped items should be deleted from the game in most cases. I defiantly believe dupers should be banned, but I think Nexon has an obligation to fix things as well. You see some of those items such as Elemental Staffs 5, 6, and I can't remember whether it's 7 or 8 can only be obtained from gach at some ridiculous rate that makes them near impossible to obtain. To my knowledge, There are about 20 Ele Staff 5 in game that are legit. That's pretty low considering that they are the dream end game weapon for an Evan.

As much as it would be a good idea, it really isn't.

Banning those with possession of duped items will dupe a large chunk of players, including those who are "innocent".

Most of the duped gear have been recubed into better stats anyway.

I'd be REALLY surprised if they did ban people with duped gear, even though I have a few items, i don't really care.

Dupers must be banned because they are ruining the servers economy espcially in scania where lots of dupers are mass duping stuffs thats why scania FM prices are cheap due to mass dupes, but i think all the dupers came from Khaini.
I don't think people who bought duped items should be banned. You can't tell if the item is duped or not and someone might just buy it thinking its legit. Then get banned for it.
The items I'm talking about are the incredibly obvious ones; VSS, etc. Something to think about

...lol. I realize I put the option up there, but I'd really like to understand the mentality behind whoever selected the "yes, no" option.

The items have honestly pervaded too much into the market to warrant banning the large portion of the population that makes use of them.

That said, as more and more 'broken' items get released in KMS (Such as the level 150 gear) the impact of these items on the game seems to lessen.

I wouldn't mind seeing them go, however.
yes ban them.

items created by hackers = benefiting from hackers

and no, only the top tier of damage hoes have duped/hacked gear. the rest of us little noobies are fine with playing the game as is... A GAME.
Hm, I think more than just top-tier players use these items.

I don't think 99% of the population uses the items I described.

dupe items is a huge dis-advantage to other people who play fair.. ;d i think dupers should get banned. Not really sure how i feel about people who spend $100 buying duped stuff yet -_-

I think clean duped items aren't much issue to the economy but I think the mass duped max scrolled equipment should be taken away or referred back to the clean state.
