How the heck does cross surge work?

does anyone know how cross surge works? I've been thinking about it and testing a few things for a while, but i have no clue whether the +100%tot dmg is separate from potential, or if it affects other %tot dmg passives/buffs or if its additive to those passive/active buffs.
I noticed that when u use cross surge and remove an equip, the range the equip ui says it gives isn't the same as what it actually gives.
someone enlighten me please<3

It shows up in your range as if it was a +100% total damage buff, but it is a separate x2 multiplier when you are actually dealing damage.

hmm, maybe with link skills, but the troublesome thing is that although my dmg doesnt double when using cross surge, its pretty close to double. if that were the case, it would show an insignificant change in damage output. for ex: i do 15m max crit on mobs with penombre, then i buff and i do as much as 45m max crit. thats 3x the dmg. logically 3x the range.
so i was thinking maybe potential doesnt apply to cross surge, but link skills and buffs do perhaps. i have 21%tot dmg potential, 20%tot dmg link skill, 30%tot dmg buff, and 100% from cross surge
Edit: visually it doesnt, but testing on monsters, it does. o_0
Edit2: with my buffs + Aria, i do 20m crits, then 41m or so after cross surge. im thinking it stacks with link skills but not other sources. idk

Yeah, it's additive with other %TD that you have, I've done some testing and it doesn't double (or do 190% of it) my range

http://www.southperry.net/showthread.php?t=73075&title=Stat screen formula changed (for better), +new crossover working info

two of the posts:

edit: i don't have any total damage potential, but the person who brought this to my attention claimed to have aproximately 100% of it, the shown range on his window didn't double but the actual damage did.

this person's brought several things like this before (like for example, the change in crit) and has always been right so i have no reason to doubt the claim that it stacks additively with total damage on the range window.

edit edit: Rob (imitare) also claimed his range didn't double (i'll skip the actual numbers in case he doesn't want people to know) but his damage certainly doubled, from visual experience.

and

Including them is cool.
I went from like 4xxk buffed range w/o cross to 700k with it on my phantom, but yeah. Was around 2.9m top that we saw (on shrooms @6path) to 6m top.

I'm 90% sure it's additive with other sources of Total Damage % and Boss%
