The topic is a very charged one, and as such, has the potential to be very meaningful to people. This is especially true since practically everyone has been affected by cancer in some way.

Now for starters, the last line is strikes me as odd. Did you set the last line up like that on purpose? Are you trying to convey something? What is it exactly? (Keep in mind, these questions aren't actual questions that I'm asking! They're for you!)

Now, when it comes to interpreting poetry, the best way to translate it is line by line (this is almost irrefutable). Meaning, if there's 5 lines to a poem, write down what you think each line is saying/symbolizing/satirizing/ etc. in the margins. When you're done with that, you should see how each of the lines relates to one another, (e.g. see how the pieces fit). Please note that summarizing the lines in your own words is crucial, because the best way to understand someone else's work (or anything, really) is to put it in YOUR OWN WORDS!
