the blacklist - tv show discussion thread

I just want to share my insight on this tv series. I just finished watching the first season(actually im on my last season, very content with it. For those who have not heard of the series, its similar to csi, law and order, elementary, the kind of show that leaves you're heading thinking and loathing for more and more as they uncover the truth. Anyways, here's what i was thinking throughout the show (spoilers)
- I was a bit confused and suspicious of red when he first submitted himself in, and i felt as though he could not be trusted, but i have sealed my opinion about him that he is 100% trustworthy.
- tom keen was someone that left me constantly switching between hot and cold water, i became suspicious of him, when he was held into captivity, them released my doubts when he was free, but later came to realise that he was in fact putting on a facade.
- i feel as though reddington is actually liz's father, however he did say "i have never lied to you" and i feel like both are true but come into conflict with each other.
- two thing that kept irritating me were 1: the amount of times characters did stupid illogical actions, 2: the amount of times the cops were always too late and red really makes them look horrible.

anyways my favorite character is dembe for a few reasons, he big and black and the director makes him feel invulnerable but friendly and honorable. Also he looks like mario balotelli

your thoughts?

@nattl532 One thing that was interesting in the last episode was that Liz decided to keep the name "Keen" because it was never his name to begin with.
After all she went through you'd think that would be the last thing she'd want, but maybe it'll serve to remind her of how evil he was (or... still is... ).

It's a pretty good show, but not something I can binge watch. I have a hard time watching more than 1 episode of it.
didnt he create the blacklist? anyways i love the idea of crossing names of a list like in arrow
Oh yeah I recall something like that but wasn't the blacklist a whole deal for immunity kinda thing? Anyways I think there is much more about Red and Tom we don't know and I guess we will find out in the future episodes
When I watched through that whole season one I honestly thought "what the hell is this! Just get a freaking hair sample and run some tests or something!" But I guess they just never intended to do so and wanted to keep the plot thick. I have this feeling he is just some uncle to her though and trying to keep her out of harms way from Tom. But we obviously can tell *SPOILERRR for those who haven't watched it **** that he isn't dead and is planning to reveal some sort of new evidence up to Liz to show her who Red really is.
Besides that I only seem to think that Red might just somehow be number one on the blacklist. Either that or someone we know/least expect.

Aside from all of that, James Spader is a marvelous actor.

It's well written, a little overly complicated sometimes, but still worth following the threads in the plot.
I kept expecting Liz or someone on her team would run a DNA test on Reddington, but so far no dice on that.
The whole Tom Keen story arc was really well done, yanking the audience's chain back and forth almost every episode until finally we learned the truth (sort of) about him.

The interesting thing about this season appears to be that Reddington isn't quite as invulnerable as he seemed last season.
It'll be fun following where that leads.
