It doesn't make sense to disregard some clear - cut drama in those shows, just because of their other genres. Because in some of those shows, part of the main focus is indeed drama, whether or not it's good or bad.

I wouldn't call those drama anime. More like Slie of Life and Horror, and School Life

If you want some drama anime, some recent ones are Aldnoah Zero, Kimi no Iru Machi,and The Sunday Without God.
Movies would be The Place Promised in Our Early Days, Wolf Children, Bungaku Shoujo, and Psychic School Wars.

Clannad, Spice and Wolf, and Nagi no Asukara(A Lull in the Ocean) were all great. Clannad is the best by far, Spice and Wolf I thought was gonna be stupid furry fanservice (which in a sense it kinda was?) but it's much more modest and mature than you'd think, Nagi no Asukara was a great fantasy drama with some of the most PRETTY visuals I've ever seen in any anime ever.. simply gorgeous.
