Need Help Pokemon X Y Questions

Hi guys so I recently was gifted Pokemon X from my girlfriend however there is a little problem, I want to buy one for her too but I'm not sure if I should get her the exact same X or the other version Y. I've googled but I mean I'm still a bit confused. If I were to buy her Y what features would she have that would be different, the story and specific pokemon exclusive to that game? Or are they both the same story and everything just different pokemon?

Could I buy her Y and then since I have X we could both trade any of our pokemons as we please?
Aside from battling/trading is there any other features to Pokemon X&Y ONLINE?
Could we battle each other or battle together versus another 2 people or something even if she has the other version?

Is there anything specific I need to know before buying whichever version and what to expect in general? Thank you for any help

Also we're not interested in the newer versions so yeah.

@Pharaohs:
Yea about the feedback, it would be nice to find someone who can submit it in Japanese. But the thing is, I shouldn't be the only person who wants to see an improvement in this feature. Everyone who played these games would know this is badly done.

To do Multi Battles you need to create a Battle at the PSS screen.

Battle > Internet > Choose 'Four-Player Match / Normal Rules' and Confirm > Select your GF and 2 other random players in your Friends, Acquaintances and Passersby list.

The creator of the battle will see who will accept the invitation. If someone doesn't accept it will be interrupted and you will have to do the request again. You will need to find people who wants to battle. I guess easiest way to find randoms is on the forums.

But it is really fun once you can start the Multi Battles. If you and your GF are in the same room then you got advantage over the other team because you can discuss what to do for each turn etc.

Everyone gave you the correct answers already. I only want to add this about 'Multi Battles'. This battle is a Double Battle format with 4 players (2 vs 2), which is really fun to do. Except the game developer didn't give us an easier feature to get people together who wants to do Multi Battles. We have to randomly select online people (most of them are busy, doing something else, or just don't want to battle), which kills this 'Multi Battle' feature. If you do find some people it would still take a while to find all 4 players to get to battle.

Most 'parties' (the 4 players in that match) only last one battle and someone would quit after they won or lost the match. I would like to battle at least 2-4 times by swapping team mates among the 4 players.

They really need to improve this. I kinda wished they did in Pokemon ORAS but they didn't. I looked at the developer site but it is all in Japanese. I did Google Translate but not sure even if I sent them a message if they can read it.

But have fun with the Pokemon games, it will be more fun if both of you play the game in competitions too. It is not easy but fun.[/quote]

Well that is definitely unfortunate to hear :L
So is it possible for my girlfriend and I to pair up and just wait for people?
You should get someone from the forums who speaks English/Japanese to do it for you.

If you give her X its making it look like your returning the gift or something

@Pharaohs Make sure she doesn't have Y first. 2 copies of the game doesn't sound like a good idea.

There are no differences between the versions except for a small number of Pokemon. (EX. X has Xerneas and Y has Yveltal)

1. Yes
2. Those are pretty much it
3. Yes

It's just a couple of poke that are exclusive to X and exclusive to Y.

The series was made in copies of 2 to trade with others to get all of the pokemon in the first place(LeafGreen and FireRed, Ruby and Sapphire, Diamond and Pearl, Black and White).

The story is the same, except for some dialogue based on the legendary of each (Xernas and Yvetal).

You can battle/trade with almost anyone, except for some people in ORAS who have exclusive mega stones and items.

Just get her Y.
