Is there a Maplestory RP community?
Not in the erotic sense. I'm talking about a dying art form, the forum text-based roleplay where people come up with their own backstories and so on. I know it may seem weird, since Maplestory is a game already, but so is WoW and people still have forum roleplay tied to it. I also understand that lore-wise, a lot of classes would be limited to one, which could cause a lot of infighting, because there's really only supposed to be one of each hero, one of each legend, one kaiser, one AB, one hayato, one kanna, but explorers, cygnus knights, and resistance classes are still fun. It would be nice to be part of a mature community, because I think a lot can be done with maple's lore.
This is probably something I can google myself, but I am curious to see if any of you fellow basilers are part of any of those communities and could maybe tell me a bit about them? Thanks!

Incidentally, does anyone have any ideas as to how it would be best to run this? Should I allow multiple heroes/legends/etc? And jobs/job skills. I would like everyone to start as a first jobber, but I'd like some feedback.
maplestory is too adorable for the things like role-playing. there's no story; it's just a dress-up game that makes u earn your clothes
@Philivesfull We don't have anything like a "fanfic" section here unfortunately, but there have been some people who have done a little writing in that vein in the Art Forum.
It would probably be easy to expand into a full RP experience, but I'm not sure how much interest there would be in doing it for MapleStory.
If you'd like to have a go at it, go ahead and start it here in the General Maplestory section so it gets the most exposure.
I've always named my characters to reflect the role playing aspects of the game, although an awful lot of people look down on that (as they play a MMO[b]RPG[/b]).
As for backstories... each member of the MWLB was supposed to come up with a backstory for their character and Nexon published them occasionally on the Maple site.
That's really the only "organized" effort at any kind of RP revolving around Maplestory I've seen though.

ERP is easy to run tho.
on topic and not trolling:
anyway if you want to roleplay, WoW, GW2, FF14... those kinds of MMOs have big roleplaying communities since they have actual servers dedicated towards roleplayers. you'd be better off either heading there or finding roleplay forums for whatever you're looking to do. best of luck!

Eh, I don't think so, at least not anymore. Not too much to RP in Maple IMO.

There used to be a RP community back in the day, but now that the game has taken a solo approach i highly doubt it.
