It allows the skill to move in different directions but does not increase its range. Perhaps the vertical distance may make it seem as if it can reach out further, but it doesn't, unfortunately.

It does.
but not the distance.
Horizontal range is the same in all modes.

Regardless, the hyper is required to dish out the most DPS/DPM either way, so use it, TS.

Not only does it still heal you,
angel ray in VoA mode is considered more efficient in bossing due to extra attack speed.

Ah alright, thanks for the tip. I just get really stingy since I like to use heal to recover HP and can't if I use the hyper... My range isnt exactly great either but i'll give it a shot
