you really don't need much to run MS, and my current laptop is using intelHD 3000 which runs it swimmingly. intel HD graphics series however are integrated into the motherboard or something like that, and shares power with the actual processor. that basically means its crap and wont really run much else other than MS at 60fps. heard of the game Fallout: New Vegas? this laptop runs it on medium at 30fps average, which is nice. still far from desirable though.
forgot to mention that my laptop is almost 5 years old, today you'll find laptops for half the price and twice the power.

@22mchan: You can check your FPS using some recorders like fraps and if you have an nvidia card that Supports ShadowPlay, you can use that to check as well.

any newer (2012ish) desktops should run maplestory fine too (usually are built enough for it)

Yes, it's a graphics card. Why are you asking about specs to run Maple if you don't know anything about technology? Just choose a decent computer and chances are you'll be fine.
