Don't forget Sword Art Online Season 2. It's undeniably, and unanimously, the best anime so far. Everyone would agree and recommend it!
Tokyo Ghouls story line is really good, but the anime is rushing it too much, can't make a judgement on the anime yet.

por que non los dos
After reading the manga, here is what I think the anime should be like...
SPOILER ALERT! SPOILER ALERT! SPOILER ALERT!
SPOILER ALERT! SPOILER ALERT! SPOILER ALERT!
Season 1 (13 episodes): Beginning to Gourmet arc. Last episode features Touka biting into Kaneki for the power up and beating Tsukiyama and blah blah blah
Season 2 (12 episodes): End of Gourmet arc to end of Aogiri Tree arc including the six months timeskip introducing Akira blah blah blah
With this setup, there is enough at the end of each season to hint at the next season and the amount of episodes should be enough to cover most details of the manga. The reason I think that this anime is disappointing might be due to lack of funding?
@HolyBloodly: I wholeheartedly agree. This anime series is already done; it can't be recovered unless they decide to strictly follow the manga but after the recent episode, I don't think it's possible.
@crazypoorer: I just can't see how the series can recover at this point, given how much of it was already mutilated. If the producers are really trying to push the series that far, they are idiots. And they wonder why they lose money all the time. Right now it's an even worse adaptation than Gokukoku no Brynhildr. I didn't think such a thing was possible >.<
I'm watching Barakamon and Aoi Haru Ride which were recommended by two basilers I like
@HolyBloodly: I'm theorizing that they want the last episode to end on the time Kaneki gets his white hair and then hope for a second season comeback. Otherwise, it's plain impossible to finish through the Aogiri arc within 12 episodes; unless of course they plan to turn this anime to even more of a garbage anime than it already is.
Sorry you're the typical gore/animation fanboy with no understanding of smooth plot
It's alright, I accept your apology. Just remember to stop making assumptions.
@crazypoorer: I still don't buy the producers reasoning. The opening suggests they're trying to push all the way through the torture arc... in 12 episodes. That's ridiculous. They could have just finished off at the gourmet arc, which was a great arc. We wouldn't have seen Kaneki's "crazy" side, but we could've at least seen Touka in action. That would have had enough of a draw to get a second season, I think.
I see that MAL finally does have it listed at 12 episodes. What I don't understand though, is that there's more than enough material for 24 episodes. There was no reason to rush. If they adapted the manga properly, it could have been hugely successful and they could have made a 2nd, 12 episode season. But instead they are rushing blindly ahead, skipping all of the good stuff. What a waste of a great manga.
You are the only person I've met so far on Basil that actually understands why this anime became garbage. Sadly, the anime was given a 12 episode cap so the producers had to do what they did to the anime with what they had available.

I had extremely high hopes for this anime after seeing the first 16 minutes of episode 1. Everything past that point is really disappointing me, I can't blame them for skipping so much and butchering it though, they're limited to 12 episodes if I'm not mistaken.
@RazerRaza: Well you just made a bad choice. Read it
@SunsetChaos: Sorry you're the typical gore/animation fanboy with no understanding of smooth plot
@Novagnome24: oh idk the first few episodes werent too bad it started getting all loose after a whiel
@RazerRaza: I didn't like it. I only watched the first episode, but everything was so overblown and felt so campy that I just could not take it seriously at all.
I was laughing within the first minute. I don't think I'll be continuing with this.
At this point it's the worst series that I'm still watching. It is getting butchered. I'm only sticking with it because the manga is fabulous and I'm hoping it shapes up. Odds of that are looking pretty grim, though.

stop telling people to read garbage. Better to watch it
