Ttera opinions?

*Tera (fail)
I've been thinking about trying this game out.. any impressions people have? Is it really as grindy as people claim it to be?

Definitely have some friends to play makes training much more enjoyable with you and the combat style is pretty neat, mostly a quest/grind as well.

The problem with the game is that they release new end game gear too often along with new dungeons. And some gear takes awhile to make too.

Monster grind to level 65 ---> repeatedly run dungeons for gear to run better dungeons ---> rinse and repeat after ever major update. Game gets repetitive after learning the attack patterns of the bosses. I find that most of the fun comes from PvPing since actual players can be unpredictable despite most of them having a tendency to go through standard skill rotations when PvPing.

Edit: There is an event going on right now where you get x2 exp as well as receive the Tera equivalent of a x2 exp coupon. Planning to join now means there will be much less grinding involved. I found leveing from 0 ---> 65 to be much easier than leveling from 0 ---> 150 in MS partly because of the abundance of short quest-lines with their own short stories accompanying them.

I prefer Aion over Tera because it seems simpler to me. >__<

The combat in Tera is definitely it's shining point. Everything else about the game is average or mediocre. I was able to level to around 45 before I got tired of the monotonous questing grind to level and quit. Honestly would probably play if I could just instantly be the level cap. Played a lancer if you're wondering.

There is no such thing as grinding in Tera.
You can literally do storyline quests and the sidequests that go along with it to get to max level.

Definitely play with friends if you can.

If you can grind in Maple, you can do anything. I give Maple credit for giving me the patience needed for my first job of tightening caps on tubes and labeling them over and over again.
TERA balances questing out with grinding, and the grinding is fun because the combat is fantastic and twitch based.

Don't play a game you can't be friends with. Nuff said/

I really like the play style of it, but meh it's a quest grind. It's fun to have friends around to ease the grind.
