I'm fairly confident about my attributes and abilities. Only people REALLY close to me would be able know my weaknesses and insult me for them. But they don't. Soooo generally insults just kind of bounce off me.
I mean, if you're smart and someone calls you stupid, why the hell would you care? It doesn't make you any less smart.

when people egg you on.. its pretty much provoking you with violence. at that point i wouldnt care either..

If it's true then it's an area for improvement on my part. Depending on how important I find that area for improvement then I either do or don't care.
If it's false and the person can be corrected then I correct them. If it's false and they are too stubborn to be corrected then it's not my problem- there's no cure for stupid.

It will not hurt me if I know for a fact that it's not true.
It depends on who is insulting me.
But usually I'll either make a joke about it myself or sarcastically throw another insult back at that person.

If it's true then it's an area for improvement on my part. Depending on how important I find that area for improvement then I either do or don't care.
