Math Help !

So im doing quadratic equations right now and i need help lol
How do i solve 5(t+3)(t-8)=0
and find the root of y^2-4y-12=0

y^2-4y-12=0

(y-6)(y+2)

So y = 6 and y = -2

Just find numbers that multiply to -12 and add to -4. You've learned to factor for a trinomial, right?
