Areas With Potential

Nexon said that they would like to hear more from their players when developing updates. What areas of MapleStory do you think have potential to be re-vamped?

I think instead of re-vamping jobs we should re-vamp areas. No one is ever going to be satisfied with their job because they'll always point to another that can do something as well or better then complain about it but if we re-vamped some of the areas instead I think that would be great.

For example, I think adding in a Pierce, Slash and Smash stat would be nice. Just like how certain monsters resist certain types of magics (holy, fire, ice) there could be different types of physical attacks. Depending on the boss or the monsters, certain people will excel in other areas but if they gave more variety of places then everything would be honky-doory.

For specific places to re-vamp, I think seeing Aqua Road get re-vamped would be amazing and Ludibrium as well. They could add in a few new areas or allow people to fight in different dimensions to go with the whole "time" theme where the monsters look really trippy.

What do you all think?

Id rather them revert the maps back to the pre big bang versions. Things were more spread out and with larger maps it felt alot more fun.

I think aqua road needs a big boss and higher level mobs/more maps.

I have something I'd like to get out about this but I hope someone agrees with me on this:

Well I tend to focus on something I think we all can agree on. Sometimes in the Chat Screen, Nexon tells us that "playing too much of this game can be a health hazard" and I personally agree to that, however there is this demand for us to level up so we can enjoy some of the more higher level content. Most of the time we go hours and hours grinding to level up and I feel personally with these 4 Hours/1 Day EXP cards and these "stay on Maple Story long enough to get more exp per 3rd monster kill" events totally contradicts to the message that too much gaming is damaging to your health.

I feel Nexon has to focus more on giving players enough enjoyment without us playing so many hours and hours of this game. So how can one go about this?

I've played GW2 for sometime and no matter how long I get off that game, I always find myself coming back to it and doing a quest/event/mission and I enjoy it. Each of these events they make always gives the players enough exp to make it worth their time. When I go to Maple with my level 100ish Kanna and do like Ellin Forest questline, I feel kinda disappointed at the rewards and the experience I get. In addition, one I finish that questline, I feel no need to go back to it and just head on to grinding again.

Here is my suggestion: Make some type of Daily Bounty System where players would accept missions/quests to hunt a specific set of monsters or a boss/expedition/PQ within their level bracket or collect some drops (but not with such insane drop rates like Peridots) and turn them in. The experience they would get from it would scale to whatever level bracket they are in as well as mesos, and other goodies (Fame and Unique Boss Drops if they are doing an Expedition Boss). Let's say for a level 156 player doing the lvl 150-160 level Bounty Bracket would get at best enough experience to cover at best +35% of their required exp to level. Of course, each player have a limit of how many Bounty Missions to do.

I like this game but if I want to see the next bigger content in this game, I would not want to grind endlessly for hours just to get 1 level or two. I'd like to just enter the game, do a few quests here and there, gain a level or two, log off, then get on with my life.

I want the old "big" maps back. Add in a ton of hidden streets and secret bosses.

They should make accuracy give minimum range and give the majority of monsters elemental weaknesses and strengths

Ulu City? They could make Krexel drop tree branch noses since some people want them.

@thiefdude68: Oh, well then I guess we will see.

Personally I think making regular party play zones starting at lower levels (and that aren't MPE) and giving 2nd and 3rd job more party skills would be great. That would foster community and teamwork from the very start of the game, not just until you need a party at LHC.

@gazimoenthra: Great idea. I think crit% would make little to no sense since the high accuracy jobs already have the highest base %crit...but crit damage is nice. Maybe make %crit also related to crit damage?

Remove accuracy or make it correlated to crit% or crit damage.

The Aqua and Ludi dungeons used to be really scary places for low levels. Now they're noob training spots. The game is advancing too fast, and they need to focus on buffing up lower level areas as most players are higher leveled nowadays.
If we're talking about Nexon America, I think it's safe to say that we'd all like pre-Aliens Masteria back complete with crafting (like battery juices, Fiona's crafting, iTCG crafting), the old Crimsonwood Keep maps, etc. We're getting a Masteria expansion sometime this year according to Girasol so I'm hoping they don't mess it up even further.
Wouldn't hold my breath for that masteria expansion being good. CMS got a new VPQ that's just the same lame crap.

I think all our skills should be replaced by just one skill called "Love Healing" and the monsters all start out with 1 hp but through the healing power of "Love Healing" we slowly fix the maple world.
