League of Legends Rank Question?

So me and my friend did our 10 provisional rank games because the season was about to end and we both won 8 out of the 10 and got into Gold Division V. We're not sure what we're suppose to do now, we started league in the summer so we're pretty clueless on how it works. Do we just keep doing rank and try and move up or are we just done and wait for the season to end on Monday?

@rokococo13: So you won't apologize for saying I'm bronze trash? Or even say sorry for disrespecting a god?

@rokococo13: If I give you a source, what will you do if you realize you're wrong? Will you openly admit you're bronze trash?

@rokococo13: Don't be so mad bro. You can try again in Season 4. Until then, get better at the game.

@rokococo13: Judging from your statement, I can safely assume you're an ignorant fool who couldn't get into Gold. If you think just because you are playing against measely Plat Vs means you should have great mmr, please read up on what mmr means again. Stay silver until you learn more about the game kid.

@rokococo13: The people you faced could have only had Silver 1 mmr. The people he faced could have had Gold+ mmr. I have a friend who only won 6 matches out of 4, but he was facing Gold 2 people, so he was placed in Gold 3.
@reedpipes: It's just luck. Or it might be win rate. I won 6 in a row, lost 1 then won 3 in a row. Those two might've lost 2 first then won 8 in a row, getting a possible higher mmr. Also since they duo'ed might've been a factor, since they'll be vsing people with higher mmr.
It's not luck. It's all about mmr

@rokococo13: oh then idk. Do you have any idea what DOES factor into divisions besides winrate?
those were just placement matches
if you don't want to risk your rank by going down to silver, you can just leave it until the end of season
if you want to see if you can make it higher, just do more ranked matched to climb the ladder
gl
note: there is a grace period of 3-4 game losses before your rank decreases
Uh. Currently, there is no risk of going down to silver. You can never drop a tier unless you haven't played for 28 days.

@reedpipes: Lel'd. No it doesn't. It depends on the average MMR of your team and average MMR against their team. If your MMR is higher and you lose to a team that has lower, then you'll be placed lower. If you have a higher MMR and win excessively against lower MMR players then you won't get as high as if you were low MMR and won excessively against high MMR players. Has nothing to do with KDA.

it depends on how badly you beat your opponents and on your KDAs

No, he can't get demoted by just playing ranked. The only way at this point is to get negative LP from dodging and get demoted that way.

Just continue to play rank since there's nothing to lose.

@desimator546: that can happen too, but since the season ends monday, it doesn't really apply

You can't drop a division by losing excessively.
Silver V will never be demoted to Bronze I due to losses, Gold V will never be demoted to Silver I due to losses, etc.
You have 2 weeks of ranked inactivity before your LP starts to decay, and that is how you are demoted to a lower divison.

I thought once you're in an division 5 you can get demoted unless you don't play for months?
