Hayato

Frustrated with Hayato

Is anyone else frustrated with their hayato? I have a 260k range clean now and I deal just around 1 mil per line? I feel like every other class does so much more damage with the same range. I absolutely love the play style of hayato it is one of my favorite classes but this damage is killing me.

@Visuke: I'd like to tell you that that sheath looks so sweet. The katana alone makes me want to make a hayato.

People like to make that argument but its not entirely the case. Many people who spent exorbitant amounts of money on things like that may not actually be that well off. They might just not know how to handle their wallet and have a tendency to impulse buy. Thats not to say that many of the people who spend a lot of nx arent well off, but that argument you made isnt entirely accurate either.
I completely agree. Which is why I said, 'chances are.' Anything else you would like to tell me? c;
Lol. It's funny, cause here I said I spent around 1500 and made an additional ~3500 from playing a game for 3 months, and you're saying something about spending 5000. Either way, if someone wants to spend 5000 and can, good for him, and chances are, he's much more well off financially than you are?

I am not frustrated with mine because I knew what I was getting myself to, but I guess it could be better. If the numbers don't add up then that means hayato itself has to change, and I don't think nexon updating the sengoku classes are top priority. The best you could do atm is to just keep investing in better gear. There are some hayato players that work within the system who have 1 mil+ range.

One problem I have with the class is that willow dodge's dmg boost can't be triggered willingly. I always thought it would be cool if for each time you chained a skill with another, willow dodge would activate. Or using falcon dive could give you a small buff that increases dodge rate thus triggering willow dodge more often.

Anyways I think the real problem is the popular opinion on hayato and some hayato players attitude towards their own class. Most will just say that it is a weak class and dismiss it. Who really determined that? I think that opinion was formed from outdated "DPS" charts which used rai+falcon dive for comparison. I believe this then lead to hayato players themselves believing that the class' potential was limited when the real problem is always equips.

Well at least we got 100% status resistance, we can almost bind most bosses, we got a lot of skills that have i-frames, and, above all else, our weapons look kool. A true hayato would never dare to put on a NX weapon cover because that's denying our special right, which is to carry a katana. A lot of classes try to imitate us by equipping that illegitimate bastardized all-class mist cutter.
My opinion that Hayatos are weak comes solely from the fact that it's doing significantly less damage with the same funding as my other characters. It's kind of difficult to deny that their dps is subpar. MS isn't balanced perfectly, there have always been some classes that are much weaker than others.

Man $1000 wont even get you 10mil per line on a Hayato.

I didn't care much about damage, but the only time I've been frustrated is when trying to kill that Obelisk Shield in Dimension Invasion. It was before when Cooldown Cutter wasn't working properly, but oh man, it got a lot easier to kill that thing after Nexon fixed it. After it started working properly, I began to have so much fun with Hitokiri Strike that I didn't even notice any bad damage. It was just satisfying as hell to dash across a row of mobs and seeing them being sliced up. And that's the only reason I made a Hayato, because I miss Assaulter, the IGN sort of says it all.

Oh hey we have the same overall. @SmashFace

But as @pokeystick1 said, JMS will come around with a revamp/update on Sengoku..sooner or later. I think it'd be kinda ridiculous if they didn't in the next year or so but let's all hope for the best. Until then it's up to you if the fun factor/appeal > quirks. o:

It doubt Nexon would take Sengoku jobs seriously because both Hayato and Kanna are very cuturally specialized. Maplestory, a game and community that aim to accomodate global users from myriad regions and cultures, undoutedly should value more hedgepodge and pastiche approaches. In other words, a Hayato player is obliged to, at some very subtle level, identify with a Japanese identity, which to some players might be slightly jarring and uncomfortable. If Nexon boosts Hayato's ATT too high, most people will switch to Hayato. But as stated above, playing Hayato can create cultural conflict, so why would Nexon absorb players only to let them face the disturbance that their desire to make a high-damage character is impeded by cultural incompatibility? Anyway, this is only my theory. Nexon could just be lazy or too stupid to notice Hayato is too weak.

Why do you think so few people play the job. It's ridiculously expensive and is doomed to gain very few, very delayed updates.

If you want power while still maintaining a similar playstyle then just move to Zero. Otherwise there's really nothing to complain about. Some jobs are just more expensive than others and it's up to you to decide if the fun factor can make it all worthwhile.
