Aran

Arans training

I often make new characters and raise them to 150 ish just to mix up maple's feel and give me new things to play with so here's my question.

How is aran while leveling and at leveling? I have an optimized training route and 2x so it surely won't be slow but I haven't played aran since near big bang era. Also assuming I fund it like the little cash ***** I am, will it be viable to solo SH with?

My main issue with old aran was that it suffered from warrior syndrome and was too slow to get around maps. Also that carpal tunnel syndrome.
How will the training speed differ from my WH?

Im training my aran i just got it over 100 because i was tired but i only spell traced some like level 10 gear all the way to lvl 100 and had a 20k range. By the time you get to sdh with gollux and scrolled fanir you can easily kill at sdh i was completly suprised training with aran( toooo op man). The one downfall is they are a slow class so i had to go get someone else to train at drakes because to kill every row was kind of slow. Once you get to r and j and the other places where mobs are grouped up you wont have a bad experience once you get to 70

Arans can be one of the faster classes in the game by way of mobility. All you need to do is put Combat Step to a key somewhat close to your jump key. Then, when on the ground, press the CS button and jump at the end. Jumping will carry your momentum at the end of the slide, which is pretty quick. Of course, you can also just use Combat Step like Flash Jump now as well, pressing the jump key midair to activate it (and you can still activate CS by double-tapping left or right), but if you get into the rhythm of it, you can easily move around maps Megaman X style (dash jump, air dash, repeat).

As for damage and training, they're pretty good. Out of the warrior classes, their overall range (reach) is lackluster, but their damage output is pretty high (especially when you rack up the combo numbers). You'll have to utilize your Rolling Spin to gather enemies if you can (or move quickly with CS to get from target to target), but if you can keep up the hits, you will do very well.

Dimension Invasion, just for the record, will be your playground when you get to 140. Mob heaven... you can easily solo it.

It gets easier in 4th job, bigger AoE skills and tempest clears the map. At 150 combo unlimitted lets you destroy maps half the time. At level 170 BB will pretty much double your damage compared to OS.

Its also pretty easy to solo SH, like 200k range or something to 1hko the whole map.

@epikkhighh: Aran's 170 Hyper makes training much more easier. Sadly you'll be using that as your main skill for the rest of their life...

kinda off topic but: when do arans get easy to train? from 1-70 it was so hard to train, even in rnj. is it 100,4th job like most classes?

I lol'd 'cause it's true XD but seriously, Aran is a great mobber and the training isn't hard. Although, my training has been over the span of ever since the class came out, so A LOT of things have changed for the earlier levels.

As people had said before, they have excellent mobbing thanks to their combo drain.
Their mobility increased a greatly (though they don't necessarily have a flash jump like other warriors)
And about that carpal tunnel syndrome.....yeah, it's still there but at least they can attack a lot faster than they had previously.

Very good. They get high range like lord anubis said. They have drain so you won't die. They have double jump and the dash thingy. ANd they are good mobbers as lord anubissaid.

well aran is a pretty good mobber, with his drain u wont need hp pots, then aran has a lot of att buffs so getting high range is easier that with other classes, then the reward for getting lvl 200 is one of the best, that pretty sexy mount
