Im looking for job ideas

So I'm trying to decide what I want to do in College (I'm in Canada not the US) and I'm not really sure what I want to do. I'm looking for something that's hands on but still mentally stimulating. I was thinking about plumbing for a while, but when I was talking to a college professor who had worked in the plumbing industry for about 25 years he told me that plumbing gets pretty tedious after a while. Before plumbing I was thinking about psychology because it's a topic I enjoy and I like to help people, but I don't enjoy the classroom setting and 7 years in university is something that wouldn't work for me.

Can anyone give me some suggestions or things to look into, thanks

I'm guessing Civil Engineering?[/quote]

Close, for a long time I was thinking about trying to get into an apprenticeship for plumbing because it seemed like a good option to me. But someone from the industry told me that it loses it's charm pretty fast if you're someone that needs to have an active mind (which I do) and than for someone as smart of me it would almost be a waste of my abilities.

do what makes you happy. If you like psychology then do research on the program and if you think you'll enjoy it, then do it. Don't think about the fact that you'll be staying in school for 7 years or anything like 'oh its a lot of work' just take it up the ass and deal with it because after when you graduate you'll be able to get a job related to psychology and you'll enjoy it (maybe). Don't think about if the college course will be hard or too long, or if the job will get tedious. Think about if you'll enjoy doing it

Anyways, you could be an optometrist or something idk

You could be a contractor.
You really don't get bored because there is a bunch of stuff you do
A contractor can do any number of either Plumbing, Electric, Roofing, Siding, Drywall, Painting, and Window.
My dad does that, and if you get into either Painting or Windows, there is a ton of money. Especially since you are in Canada, and people tend to change there windows often in the cold to save money from heat leaving the house via windows thus making electric bills go up.
Siding is always going to have money into it because of how expensive the pieces are and almost everyone needs it.
From 13 yrs working with my Father and he is a general contractor.

Whatever you choose, make sure it is an industry where you can find a job.
I'd say medical if you can get into it. Be a nurse. My mom is a registered nurse (R.N) and makes ~110k a year.
