X-Rated Advertisement on Basil

Is it just me, or does anyone else see the X-rated Advertisement on basil? Looks like anime you know what lol. Starts with a H, end with a i (not trying to get banned)

Company: Nextag. It's like showing pics, with prices

Edit: Put this in one of my comments. But see for yourself: http://tinypic.com/r/ezr7q/6

I don't get those ads. It's your search history of whatever you searched.

It's from Adsense, which tracks your searches and web history to provide commercials fit for you that will hope to be something that appeals to you.
(An example is that I recently bought a Wacom Tablet off of Amazon recently, so my commercials are Wacom tablets and other computer accessories.

Apparently Yu-Gi-Oh and anime appeals you.

I'm not having them, but maybe that's because I'm from Europe and tend to get different ads than other people. Also my ads are usually fairly innocent except that one time I got this add with a scarcely clad lady on it who offered me to bite her "buns". Thanks but no thanks. </3

MrB doesn't have much influence over which ads are displayed on the site by Adsense, but he can block ads he doesn't want here, so if you forward screenshots and all to him he can probably take them off. He did so for me with Bite me Buns (luckily).

EDIT: Don't know why you guys are all pointing fingers at the Thread Starter; I'm on dirty sites more often than the vast majority of you (because I have to click literally every link Basilers post, to make sure they're not inappropriate- and frankly they often are) and I don't have dirty ads all that often.

Same thing is happening too me...Pretty sure I do not look at such Yu-gi-oh mats or any thing that is related to Yu-gi-oh or nakedness o.o Trying to keep Basil running, but having these ads are pretty intriguing and can be bad for some people...

Are you talking about yourself?
Funny thing: I don't watch anime nor any kind of disgusting... I don't even </3
But as soon as I clicked on the link to the picture of it in another thread complaining about it, it becomes the ad every other time I move pages. @_@
Disabled adblock just to see if this was true.. Hahaha, I don't mind those are some hot pics. Edit : Is it safe to click on the ad to go to the website? I've never trusted ads.

clears cookies regularly, and I'm on my work laptop right now. So no pron sites here, but still getting those ads, they are suppose to be just mats... but i feel like those aren't intentional, just adblock them (if you have it whitelisted on basil) and you won't need to see them again, unless of course you do want to see them; then why would you post :C

Directly from basil's privacy policy:

Ads: We use third-party advertising companies to serve ads when you visit our Web site. These companies may use aggregated information (not including your name, address, email address or telephone number) about your visits to this and other Web sites in order to provide advertisements about goods and services of interest to you. The company that pays basil displays their ads based on your internet cookies/history. It's you.

Some ads you receive on Web pages are generated from your visits over time and across different Web sites. This type of ad customization is enabled through your computer browser and browser cookies.

@subsamuel123 You're right and you're wrong. Yes, Basilmarket gets paid from other companies to advertise, but it's not pre-determined which ads are being shown. Not everyone gets the same ads. It's customized based on predictions about your interests which is generated from your search history from previous web sites you've visited. I'm not 100% sure, but I'm going to assume (because it's the most popular way of web advertising), that it's not Basilmarket that is supplying the ad, it's actually Google (Google AdSense). So Basilmarket is just the publisher of the advertisement and is earning a revenue share with Google for each ad that is being supplied.

I'm not getting pop-ups.....pop-ups is determined by my history. I'm talking about the Ads on Basil.
yup, like @Mybullets said, the ads are catered to sites that you visit frequently / sites that are of a similar nature. perv.
You're wrong. Like other websites, Basilmarket gets paid from other companies to advertise their stuff on the site
