Page - Sword or Blunt Weapon?

So I've started a Page and I've been liking it so far. But I'm wondering if there is a difference in using a sword or a blunt weapon? I heard blunt weapons are cheaper to fund.

IMO, I'd go with blunts. Tbh, Joints really aren't my favorite thing to smoke. I don't really give a care for the extra damage given when smoking the Joint. Blunts are the way to go bro and if possible, try to get the Fafnir Backwood Blunt.

Sword gives better effect why would you choose 5% pdr over dmg

Blunt weapons look so much cooler but I think swords have an objectively better effect from the 4th job skill.

@kyuubi
Just assumed super funded as well.
And assuming the sword box bug thing gets fixed

@Freelcecream Obtaining that sword is difficult to say the least. By super funded I meant what everyone else means: being capable of hitting the damage cap with both a 1h or a 2h weapon. When that achievement has been reached, then it boils down to attacking speed. The 1h fafnir is faster than ryude's sword. There is that extra line of damage to account for though but as I stated earlier, that sword is very difficult to obtain.
Blunt weapon animations are awesome compared to that of a sword...I regret making a sword now that I look back at it... x(
As for damage, if you're super funded, 1h>2h in terms of dps simply because you'll hit faster. If not, get a 2h weapon for it's superior multiplier.
Someone already mentioned the passives that accompany each respective type of weapon so I wont get into that.
If you were superfunded wouldn't going 2h using a Ryudes be better?

Assuming -5 speed from boosts (booster, inner, dsi, green pot):
Using a 1handed weapon at speed 0 you take 67.5ms per attacking line.
Using a Ryudes at speed 1 you take 63.3ms per attacking line.

That's a 6.2% faster damage output

Sword = more damage, more resell price, more costly.
Blunt = better blast and charges animation, more cheaper and less resell price.

Thanks, I'll choose 2 handed Blunt weapons then since the animations are cool and not many classes use blunt weapons. Especially 2-handed.

Just to add onto what the other two have said; Blunt weapon animations are actually very nice. Sword animations are as you would expect, but the Blunt animations are a work of beauty (in my opinion at least).
But if you are more of a damage-seeking player (although I can hardly imagine someone like that would choose a Paladin), definitely go for the 2H sword route.

Yeah, what @ledozop96 said.

Also, if you're more of an aesthetic player, you should take into account that the animation for Blast and the charges (I think that's it?) change depending on if you use a blunt weapon or a sword.

The difference between a blunt and sword is the passive effects that come with each weapon in fourth job. Blunt comes with 5% ignore enemy def and sword comes with 10% max crit when you max High paladin/paladin expert. A two handed weapon of either choice is recommended because of the multipliers that come with it, plus the page branch secondary weapon. Personally i like two handed blunt weapons because it's cheaper than two handed swords and looks better (IMO!)
