Personally, I find rapid fire a disgustingly bland skill so not really looking forward to going back to it.

LOL Maplestory is pretty much becoming like Yu-Gi-Oh. The moment a specific class/deck becomes too OP, the company nerf them. Phantom is pretty much one of the strongest class possible through DPM with caps.

But seriously, if you don't like Phantom just because of damage, then just quit... Phantom IMO is one of my many classes that I believe are well developed and not just any random skills put together and call it a class.

Pick the class you like best and stick with it... You don't know how much hardship I have to go through when NL's were the bottom of the food chain after Big Bang. NLs wient from Best (Dexless) to Complete weakest. Even my friend's Bishop with barely any fund can do the exact same damage. It just shows how out damaged NLs were. And not to mention the books were 400-600mil (when mesos were super hard to earn) per Triple Throw 30 but guess what? I still brought it. Not only I brought one, I brought 8! I failed everyone one of them and I finally succeeded with that 8th one. Now MS is so dam easy you can start as any job and get any skill.

Summary: Don't like it, just quit.

They lose 20% of their damage.. If you think that nerf is significant enough to ruin them then you don't understand maple

I'm not 100% sure why everyone is getting their panties in a ruffle over these nerfs. Yea they are significant, but all it meant was that they are lowering 4th job potential to make it easier to implement 5th job. Just cause 5th wasn't announced in July and star force was announced doesn't mean 5th job isn't coming.
So if you enjoy phantom wait it out and see what happens in winter when they most likely announce 5th job. If at that point something isn't coming to massively out weight the nerf to arrow platter then by all means switch to a better class. Till then if you enjoy the class wait it out.

They're not going anywhere in potential dps. You will need more funding to reach the same damage output but they aren't losing lines or anything.

What is "worth it"? What makes a class "worth" playing?

If you enjoy the character, play it. If you don't enjoy the character, don't play it!

Why is playing for damage a bad thing? people only say that cause they can't afford it. There's a lot of fun into competitive dojo and high-end bosses, and some classes are better for the job than others.
OT: The nerf isn't that bad, -20% damage from Cross surge, and arrow blaster pretty much useless, but I hate the skill anyway since it's autokill by DR. Even if it's less DPS, I think FC + Milles or Rapid fire would be better.
Why choose between a class you like and a class that does high damage when you can just choose both? Among the strongest classes there is also probably one you enjoy. I mean, if you really want to make that Mihile, okay, but you should be ready to accept that you're going to need to put in a lot of funding to bring it up to par with other classes.
But maybe you enjoy a class that isn't both more
This person knows her things. I don't get why people play for damage, play what class you like. I really want to main a beast tamer (nexon plz bring em back for creation) and I am going to. I know beast tamers are close to an average class, but who really cares. I really like the Beast Tamer class for reasons such as the ears and tail, the storyline and because of the skill animations.

worth making because its a fun class.
worried about nerf?
it's a circle,
job gets revamped ->
<- job gets nefred
if ure still so worried about possible nerfs, you should make a permabeginner

If you're worried about the class because they're getting a future nerf, go make a different class.
