How do you feel about your parents paying for college tuitio

After scholarships and grants I have to pay about 16k/semester or 32k/yr, and thats not even counting the 16k-20k that I have to pay for summer school inorder to finish undergrad for my BBA in 2&1/2 yrs. Even though my dad earns around 300-400k before taxes I feel so guilty taking money away from him, I don't like to burden people with my problems. My dad says he doesn't mind paying for me but taking away from him a large sum of money makes me feel so guilty.

So back to the title, how do you feel about burdening your parents financially by going to college?

Also the school I go to isn't like boston uni which costs 45k/yr, who has a state college on the same rank but much cost less such as binghamton uni 20k/yr.

These are some ridiculously expensive costs. x__X My tuition is completely covered through my scholarships and I'd have money left over. :I The only thing I buy are books, but then again, my school's tuition isn't as expensive as yours.

I feel guilty sometimes, but my parents do make a fair amount of money.
To be honest, they both live a pretty low cost life and I spend money like nobody's business.
Hopefully when I get a job I'll be able to spoil my parents (:

thats a lie. Doctors make 100k after taxes and you gotta go to school for like 10 years after secondary[/quote]

You do know theres is very many specialties you can go into as a doctor, doctor is a very general term.

I don't really feel guilty...but reading your posts makes me feel guilty now :
But if they do pay, I won't really feel guilty unless I fail or drop out, then I would feel super guilty, but if I pass with awsome marks, I wouldn't feel so guilty and try to pay them back

My parents don't pay a cent (other than buying me food and whatever I needed to bring to college). All my scholarships, grants, and loans pay for my tuition.

my parents paid for my sister and my brother's first semester (but then he dropped out). I know my sister paid them back 100% after a year or two of teaching.

So yeah, they got it covered for me and I'll just pay them back when it's convenient for me. I don't feel bad about borrowing money, because they'll get it back once I've put a couple payments down on my house and car.

My parents don't make enough to pay for college for me. I decided not to go to college though.

My parents aren't paying anything for me. I don't expect them to either, because I come from a fairly low income family (less than 20k/yr). In a sense, it's nice because I get to assume total financial freedom. At the same time though, it sucks being so broke all the time while everyone else is being spoiled. I even depledged from a sorority due to the cost.

My public university has an estimated average cost of $32k/yr. That includes tuition, room and board, books, health insurance, and other personal expenses. I waived out of the school health insurance because my family is already covered, which saves me $1.5k/yr. I also chose the cheapest dorm room possible, saving me another $3k/yr. Considering I have $21k a year in grants and scholarships, that's almost exactly enough for me to pay off the tuition and room and board. I took out some loans for my personal needs, but there's room to budget accordingly since there's no set amount that I have to spend. I also have 3k/yr in work study, and I'm planning to find a new job once I've settled into school a bit more.
