because he/she wants to watch K with you duh

but srsly, I'd honestly rather not get a text back at all if it's just going to be "k". like wow thanks for the effort. not even like "lolktenx"
It would piss me off when people did that back when I had limited txting.
If it's just a confirmation, I don't mind people using it. "Ayo kneegroid, I'm here." "K". That would be all right.
But if I actually say something and expect a response and they just say K, then that ain't cool, yo.
lmao, I used to have that problem when I had limited texting. My gf would send me like 1-6 word responses, and ask me questions, but each question would be a separate text message. And then when I would answer a question, she would respond with "ok" and send that and then right after send another message asking another question. I'm like this isn't an instant messanger, just say everything you have to say in one big block of text. But nope... I would reach my daily limit so fast

its not"k" to text"k" because most of the time people text a WoT or either a really long text with details/information and on the other end the scrub just replies "k"but sometimes its ok say for example:you text to your IRL blood related brother
youass me your home keys i left mines at home
him:k
use your judgement sometimes,if you know its meaningful dont say "k"

"ok" is longer and more meaningful than "k". "Ok" is usually not as expressive either, so many add a smiley face or something, or even a sad face if it fits the conversation... it makes you seem like a less boring person or something.

Idk... it's something like k, meaning I don't give a s_word about what you say. It's like saying "whatever I don't care and stop talking to me", so you spend little time texting back. And since it's little effort, it could mean your mad.
While ok is another conversation ender, but it seems like you put more effort?
It's like real life, you wouldn't say "k" to a teacher when they help you, you would say "ok" or adding in "thankyou."> notice the more 'positiveness' in it?

@NuggetsOnCrack: Oh thank you, I am terribly sorry; I forgot that it was in my mouth. At any rate I will convey to you what I said to you in my previous message. Fair maiden, it seems that If I could ever remain by your side, I would continue to converse with you for as long as possible because you are a quite wonderful and an interesting person as well as someone who I find very attractive and that you, more than any one else I have ever met, deserves to have company for as long as you desire because the way you look at all times makes me believe that you are beyond perfection and I would love to get to know you.
ruins a conversation tbh

here's an example from a previous convo i had with a bud

"hey dude! how's it going"
"marvelous...hbu?"
"fantastic! it's a great day"
"k"

WELL then...
then you just text k back.

it shows lack of interest or emotion, depending on the situation.

usually comes off as rude aswell.

maybe if you're confirming something then it's fine like "hey, i'm here" "k"
but if it's like
"baby, you're so beautiful your eyes shine brighter than the ocean on a summer day
you always know how to make me feel so hot that I'd just tackle you right there on the ground
and treat you like the girl you deserve to be
and just the way you look at me sparks more fireworks than the fourth of july
the main thing I wanted to say was that..I love you."
..
"k."

Because it ends a conversation, there really isn't a way to respond when somebody says "k". Saying "k" isn't a great way to end a conversation.
